GM/Winter Meetings Thread

Right now, I'm going Miami, Washington, ATL, NY, Philly. But....there is a long way to go before we tee it up.
 
Miami hasnt jumped the Nats.

But they should contend for a WC.

That rotation is crazy if Fernandez comes back strong.

Fernandez, Latos, Alvarez, Eovaldi, Koehler, Cosart as well.

I think they will win the east. It should be a close two team race between Miami and Washington. No other team comes within 15 games.

I would of taken the Nats 100% of the time coming into the meetings, but I love what the Marlins are doing. I think they gave way too much up for Gordon, but he's a really good player, especially for that team. If they can bring in a really solid first basemen, I think they'll overtake the Nats. That rotation is going to be incredible.

I'd take a risk on him though, I'm a big fan as well. Between Anderson and Peavy. Peavy is my first choice though. He can be a workhorse and he's a veteran.
 
In this day and age where runs are tough to come by, having a player like Gordon who can change the game is a big deal.

You would trash Dee Gordon and his 2nd half if he were on this team. You'd say pitchers figured him out, and his speed is just that: speed and nothing more. Consider his 2nd half SB% of 68. He's a solid everyday player. Not much more.

A real lead off hitter is what this team has needed for years.

You are forgetting deGrom who won the ROY and their top prospect Snydergaard . Snydergaard, Wheeler, deGrom, and Harvey is a pretty terrific top 4 and Niese would be one of the best 5th staters in the league (where-as the Braves curently don't have a 5th starter).

As of Dec 11, 2014, the Mets clearly have the stronger rotation on paper.

Syndergaard hasn't thrown a pitch in the majors and didn't dominate last year. I like him in the long-term though. I think Wheeler will improve on last year, and I really like deGrom. Niese is just alright. Harvey will be good in no time.
I still like our rotation better. But if Harvey can come back and dominate right away, think I do give them an edge there, actually. IF he does that, though.
 
I might like our rotation better depending on who we sign/trade for. As of now our 5th starter is Hale, which isn't all that inspiring. Our current top and Mets top 4 is probably petty even.
