I would take Lohse over Medlen in the playoffs, but I certainly don't think trading a B or higher prospect for him is smart.
I'd like to see something like Gregerson for 1 of Gilmartin/Northcraft/Schlosser plus Kubitza.
I wouldn't hate that deal. Is gregerson under control for next year?
I think Papelbon would be a disaster, considering we have Kimbrel. He could never handle not being the closer.

Not a bad point — dude does seem to have a substantially aggrandized opinion of himself. I'm just spit-balling because the Phillies currently seem pretty motivated to dump his ass.
Lohse is 2-5 with a 4.86 ERA in the playoffs
If the Phillies were primarily interested in salary-relief, would anyone be interested in adding Papelbon for a low-quality prospect? He's owed $13 million in 2014 and 2015, but if he's setting-up Kimbrel then there's pretty much no way his 2016 option would vest.
Alternatively: would anyone trade the Phillies a better prospect (or prospects) if they ate half of Papelbon's remaining salary? Suddenly his contract wouldn't look absolutely terrible: $6.5 million in each of the next two seasons, plus flexibility with regards to trading Kimbrel (or at least the flexibility to seriously consider it).
I'd consider the second scenario, depending upon the prospect(s), but don't think I could pull the trigger on $26 million over the next two seasons for a reliever who – while superlative – wouldn't even be the best arm in the bullpen.
Huge sample dude.
They're thinking Norris to the Pirates. He doesn't help us much anyways. Besides Norris and Peavy, what SP gets traded by tomorrow? There's always the one you never saw coming.
Surprise move? Dan Haren.
