Braves Trade Deadline Rumors

Has anyone actually look at Bonifacio's stats this year? Or last year for that matter....

He's a NL player. He would bring a decent bat off the bench with elite speed. A guy like him would be an asset during the stretch run and playoffs off the bench.

That's fine if that's your opinion but what has Boni done in the last 2 years to make you think he's a "decent bat"?

Speed, I'll give you but we have JC and JS for that.

Hes playing in a hitters park though. Its not like he tore up nl pitching either. I dont see why his names neen mentioned for 3 years now.

There is a legitimate concern about who would fill in if Simmons or Chris Johnson went down. We could ride it out when Ramiro Pena was there, but now it would be an issue.

Bonifacio is a career 260 hitter, with minimal OBP skills and zero power and strikes out over 20% of the time.

Once in his career he's had a wRC+ of over 83, for his career he's at 79.

And he averages a .4 WAR over his 7 years in the bigs

I don't get it.

....and bonifacio would take away that concern. Mmmkay.

I don't recall Bonifacio being anywhere NEAR as good defensively as Janish.

There's just no reason for Janish to be on the major league roster. You need some sort of offensive out of your bench players. Bonifacio is solid enough defensively and even though he's been terrible this year, would be a huge upgrade over Janish. Bonifacio would be greatly improved if he came back to the NL.

He's not much different from Schafer who should be back in a few weeks.

People get a Bonerfacio for people who can play multiple positions even if they can't do it well

Move Terdo to 3B.

Simmons, probably Janish.
