Because the Knicks have been grabbing solid free agents the last decade?

I don't like Melo as much as other, but they did basically sign him.

Also Amare at the time was highly coveted. Tyson Chandler as well.

Aside from those two they haven't had cap room to sign anybody else so it's hard to argue that they can't sign anybody. I just am not a huge advocate of the strategy because you basically are screwed if the guy you sign doesn't fit.

I was mainly talking about free agent players who came to the Knicks after playing somewhere else. Players aren't going to line up and want to play with Carmelo. He is a proven loser in the NBA.

Trying to build with players like Melo and Amare was foolish in the first place. The shortcomings were glaring for so-called superstars. Right now, you still have to do it right, and they haven't shown any ability to that recently.

Tyson Chandler left the champs to play with Melo.

Aside from then they haven't ever had cap room to sign another star to play with Melo.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but the Knicks won over 50 games with Melo and Amare.

I have never understood the dichotomy of Melo. He's either a superstar top 10 player or a loser?

I think it's more likely that's he's a really valuable offensive player with severe limitations on defense. Is that a superstar? Probably not, but you can win that. Heck, he's mostly been on playoff teams so obviously you can win that.

Why are the Knicks a desireable place to play?

Big thing for the Cavs: possibly getting another first-round pick in the 2015 draft, since they'll most likely be forced to swap their own pick with the Bulls' this year, barring an epic collapse by Chicago or an epic figure-****-the-****-out by Cleveland (and they'd probably need both).

My favorite moment of the game, and my favorite statistic produced from this game:

After Harden missed a 3, Mirotic made his attempt to make it 110-103 with 39.6 seconds remaining. That sealed Chicago's sixth straight win against the Western Conference.

For those criticizing the Knicks...what's your alternative plan? All I hear is there is "no guarantee" they will convince FA's to come here, and "no guarantee" they will win even if they do. When are there ever guarantees? What I will say is keeping JR Smith on the books for another year does guarantee less flexibility, and he is a below replacement level player (IMO). Addition by subtraction.

They don't have to use all that cap space in year one...if they don't get the guys they want, they can roll it over.

So, how are Morrow (the best FA signing in basketball) and Jeremy Lamb doing? I see Lamb has play 6 mins in 4 games.

I could give you two of them and that's far from a guarantee the team will be any good.

2 of those + Okafor + Melo + THJ + Calderon isn't good in the East? Kay.

Also, the Knicks have options.....they have a top 3 pick + Melo + Calderon + THJ + 30 mil in cap......they can sign 2 max guys, they can sign 3 guys for 10 per, so on and so on.

WHY WOULD ANYONE SIGN SOMEWHERE FOR MONEY? WHY?????

Also, still laughing at Waiters / RW / Ibaka / Adams PRESSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
