It will depend on who the Knicks can draft. But, if they set up a team with Okafor, Gasol, Melo, Calderson...........they would certainly be a threat in the East.

Heck they may even TAKE OVA NY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's some groundbreaking stuff right there. It's possible he will go there. Amazing.

Memphis is a great team and he's going to leave for the dump that is the new yoYork knicks? Forgive me for not believing that.

Lets see, stay in Memphis and be the Western Conference bitch or go to the bright lights of NY where he can make a **** ton more money and also possibly play with Melo and a top draft pick. The Knicks with Gasol would go further in the playoffs than the Grizz with Gasol.

Would you want to live in Memphis or NYC? Also Memphis is likely at the end of it's run....he can stay with Conley and ZBo and nothing else or leave for NYC with Melo + top 3 pick + Calderon + THJ + multiple other free agents + Pau is pushing him to NY.

I'm not sure I even want a 30+ year old Gasol...if we landed him, would the Knicks be able to surround him and Melo with the right supporting cast before they both got too old to lead a team to a title? I'd want to know the rest of the plan. I don't want half a window for 1-2 years only to be right back where we started.

I'd like to add Greg Monroe, who only turns 25 this year and has the skills to be a good triangle big. I'd also consider a massive offer to Jimmy Butler. Maybe the Bulls don't let him go, but why not put them to the test. It's past time that the Knicks actually build a cohesive team.

Good point, but that's where the top pick this year should help as well. Monroe would be an excellent option as well. I do think Gasol is a better fit beside Okafor though.

I do think if Marc wants to be a Knick, the team will give him what he wants to make it happen. I think "fit in the system" is going to be a major factor in any and every move Jackson makes, and he knows Marc is a slam dunk in that regard.

I have never understood the dichotomy of Melo. He's either a superstar top 10 player or a loser?

I think it's more likely that's he's a really valuable offensive player with severe limitations on defense. Is that a superstar? Probably not, but you can win that. Heck, he's mostly been on playoff teams so obviously you can win that.

What we do know is that when he came up for free agency six months ago, every team with max cap space (and others without it) were rolling out the red carpet for him. A lot of smart organizations led by smart GM's were willing to give him everything they could to get him on their respective teams. I don't think that happens if he's a "loser."

Heyward & thethe > NBA GMs DOE

I've never said that he's a loser. I just don't believe he is top 10 anymore and starting next year I think it might be a stretch to even say he's top 20.

Based on what?

He's coming off his best season 2 seasons as a pro and last year was probably his best.

He was 9th in PER
4th in Wins added
4th in value added

So you're basing it off him playing through a knee injury, cool.

The two teams that wanted him the most were Chicago and Houston. Those were absolute perfect matches for him because it would have hidden his real weaknesses on the defensive end.

I don't think he's a perfect fit for everybody like say how a LeBron or Anthony Davis would be, but for a lot of teams he's a great fit.

Your next factual post will be your first.

You are cute.

It's a shame that you are a blind Knicks homer who think they are a relevant sports team. You have a ton of basketball knowledge too. But please stop touting the Knicks like they mean anything.

Lol I'm a "blind homer"? I'm one of the most pessimistic people on this board.

That was a good one

Kevin Durant is excited that Dion Waiters is joining the Thunder and thinks he can fill the sixth-man role the team has been missing since they traded James Harden to the Rockets a few years ago.
"I am not saying he's James' replacement because we're far past that," Durant said. "But he can play, he can come off the bench for us and score and make plays. He is a really good player. A lot of people take him for granted, I think."
