Senseless references because you are upset your favorite player got traded. I expect better from you.
No. I just don't need you of all people to tell me who is great and who isn't. Your track record of talent evaluation is atrocious

I never made a declarative statement like you did. You are the one trying to stuff down that Heyward is a great player down everyones throat.
So... you are sure he is going to get $26-28M a year on the open market... but aren't sure he is a great player.
Impeccable logic from you per usual.
Your tone is just way out of line. I don't disrespect you in this manner outside of the "Real Talk" board. I don't get why I am getting this reaction from you.
Heyward will get paid that much because there are a lot of front offices that believe in the defensive metrics. I am not alone in the thought that they are not the absolute truth currently.
I'm not out of line at all. You are the king of making declarative statements but when someone calls you out on it you shouldn't get so upset about it. I'm still waiting on the earth to be destroyed
Again, completely irrelevant to this discussion and I assumed that is why you are acting in this manner. I now understand that it makes no sense to engage you as you can't let arguments in the real talk forum stay there.
Heyward will get paid that because he will be 26 and still has worlds of potential and because Free Agency. People get overpaid like crazy when they hit the market which is likely (not absolutely, but likely) why Close wanted his client to hit FA.
There wasn't even a strong bidding war for Max Sherzer and he got 210 million. 210! And that is in a pitching saturated market.
The Braves do not have the luxury of paying 27 million to a guy like that where his calling card is outfield defense. I wish they did. The Braves just simply don't operate like that.
Logic.
No place for that around here - cut it out!!!
1- Unless Stl offers him 22-26+ mil a year, he'd be stupid to sign now.
2- Yall act like he's Mike Trout. Jason is a hell of a player but some of yall are crying like he's the best player in baseball for chickens sake.
3- And yes, as long as he stays healthy, and plays well, he'll easily get 22-26 on the open market if he hits FA.
So - you laugh at the idea that he's a top player in baseball… But then suggest he will be paid like one.
So what does it mean if Heyward doesn't sign a long term deal with the Cards after stating that he would be interested?
