Jason Heyward Open to Extension w/ Cardinals

Yes.

1- You have no idea if he's getting 26-28 mil per year from anyone
2- He has said over and over he loves ATL, grew up here, etc....how do you know he won't take 6 mil less per year?
3- Your per year value of him would make him, I believe, the 3rd or 4th highest paid player in baseball......that's not happening.

Expanding revenues. I would be shocked if he got less than 26M. I could be way off but I think it will be close to 30.

I don't get why its in Heywards best interest to accept a contract below market value the year before FA when mlb revenues are exploding.

The real mistake was not extending him after his first or second year.

It's in his best interest if he wants to stay in Atlanta - which he has said repeatedly since being shipped away

Trading a player doesn't bother me as much as how he was traded. The fact that he had no clue whether Heyward would provide a discount, wanted to stay, etc, is insulting to the fanbase.

I know no matter what happens you will blow the organization so no point in arguing with you.

GO Braves! Can't wait to watch Max Fried pitch this year!!!

Discussions with his agent prior to the 2013 season seemed to have led the Braves believe that he would not take any type of discount and I don't see why Heyward would. He is going to be massively paid.

If he is going to be asked the question what would his response be? Heyward is smart and playing the media game. He knows what he is doing. Not saying what he is saying is a lie but I'm sure every player would love to play at home....as long as the are paid enough.

I know. It's very difficult picking up a phone and having a conversation with him. Hart assumed that wouldn't be necessary. So he saved the company some cell phone minutes.

He doesn't have to say "they never even asked me

If the conversation is pointless in their eyes then why do it? You obviously disagree with that view based on what Heyward has said. Everyone is entitled to their uniformed opinion. I have no clue what went on and neither do you. Its all speculation and we will never really know.

I know they never talked to him about it.

That's enough to piss me off. But the Braves do no wrong

Again, thats a great line to say. How many players do you think are actually asked by the front office in negotiations?

I'll go out on a limb and say players like Freddie Freeman, Andrelton Simmons, Julio Teheran, and Craig Kimbrel were made aware of the team's interest in them... Just a guess though

I would guess that those players were never spoken to prior to their agents getting a call.

They do plenty wrong. Allowing Wren to run a muck and ruin the foundation the organization built for him prior to taking over as the GM is a big negative against JS.

I'm just amazed at your full faith and confidence in this regime.

They're going to pay the price in ticket sales for the next few years. Nobody's coming out to see Nick Markakis

So Heyward was a needle mover?

Fans show up for winning. Now that most likely won't happen this year but attendance was awful last year as well with Heyward.

LOL... Get ready for some empty seats.

Heyward the most liked, most marketable, and best player on the team. Get rid of him.

The team was 29th in runs scored. They were like 6th in pitching. What do we do? Get rid of 4 of our 5 best hitters and replace them with Alberto Callaspo.

!!!

Do you have anything to support this?
