I dont understand why Suh is going to get such a big contract. Dude purposely tries to injure people. I thought Commissioner Douchebag said that was unacceptable?. Shouldnt he be banned from the league or something?

lol Chip is the ultimate Oregon Ducks homer.
Yeah well that's a thought. Not much of a good one, but a thought nevertheless.
I am trying to see this trade from Philly's perspective?
They get rid of a top 5 RB, and are left with Sproles on the roster. They aiming for CJ Spiller? Got to have a RB to make that offense go...
I like Alonso, but MLB wasn't exactly a position of dire need in Philly...they just let their two OLBs go, so... I guess I just don't see that trade making sense as of yet. It did clear a lot of space I guess.
Cleared a ton of space and got one of the best young linebackers in the game. Running backs are easier to replace than just about any other position. They can sign Spiller or draft a RB. McCoy is on the downside of his career.
I think they wanted to get out from under that contract (10M this year) before he needed to be cut and still carried value.
A lot of RBs can fit into that system, but you got to have someone that can make em pay. FWIW, I like Alonso a lot and think he along with the cap room make this a pretty solid move.
From week 5 on last year, McCoy was 2nd in the league last year in rushing... That kinda snuck up on me

MCoy was actually 24th in DVOA last year, which isn't the end all/be all, but does provide some substance to Chips thinking. McCoy already has 1,500 carries and once a RB gets into that 1,500 to 2,000 carry range the drop off is severe. On top of that, McCoy had 300+ carries in each of the last 2 years. He had 4.2 yards per carry and his receiving numbers really dropped off.
THink its a brilliant move for Eagles even with the injury concern of Alonso. Chip is a very progressive thinking person and he takes advantage of some of the old timers. Maybe McCoy has a big 2015, but long term, his best days are behind him, but his most expensive days are ahead of him.

Well of course longer than 2-3 years its not a bad idea, as McCoy likely will be out of the league in 6 years or less. Which is ok thinking, until you figure that the window for success for the majority of teams is less than 3 or 4 years (without an elite QB anyways). The Eagles were built to win now. Getting rid of your best player isn't a particularly smart move.
Alonso is nice, but they could have just signed someone like Maualuga or Robertson. They had plenty of cap room before this trade as well.
Now the trade isn't official yet. Would make more sense if the Eagles were also getting back a draft pick. I could understand the reasoning if that were the case, with them wanting to move up to get MM.
Bills not done. They have acquired Matt Cassel from the Vikings for an undisclosed draft pick.
Assumed Rex would go after him or Matt Moore
why not hoyer?
