Harang or Cahill?
Cahill. Harang has facial hair, anyway.
Harang or Cahill?
6 million give or take for a guy who had a league average FIP? Not bad for a rebuilding team. If he does return to form he could be flipped at the deadline or possibly extended if the team thinks they have fixed him. For a team rebuilding this move has negative implications imo.
Except we are paying 6 million for at best an average pitcher. We are rebuilding. Letting some team dump their bad contract off on is isnt a good way to rebuild. Makes no sense.
Not a terrible deal, but not sure I really understand the point of it. 6 mil for a 4 era in a rebuilding year isn't bad. But, why not just give some young guys a shot instead of Wandy, Stults, Cahill?
He has a career 4.07 ERA and 4.28 FIP. His 2010 season everyone praises was a 4.19 FIP. Last year when everyone was down on him, it was 3.89. That's pretty much what he is, ~4 era
Aren't you the same person who said Gavin Floyd would get 10-12 million this season?
I think there is close to zero percent chance he is here beyond 2015, even if he were to win the Cy Young.
So we freak out over trade rumors now?
Cahill. Harang has facial hair, anyway.
Why start their clock in a year we are destined to be terrible?
Then on the other hand, why waste money in a year destined to be terrible? There were already 5 starters on the squad
Practically every move he's made since becoming GM has been met with confusion and derision on the board.I don't think anybody knows what Hart is trying to do anymore.

The #Braves are not comfortable placing two similar lefties (Wandy and Stults) back-to-back in their rotation.
With good reason. This is yet another head scratcher. Cmon, you're not competing this year. You should have spent this, KJ, Grilli, Callaspo and a few others' money and bought Olivera or Moncada. Or another wing in the Dominican Academy.
This front office hasn't steered a clear heading. I don't know what they're trying to do. If it's win, they're not going to do that with Trevor Cahill.
