Indiana....

that we as a society can't come to the basic agreement that if you want to open a business that you must treat all your customers as equal is absurd.

really? we as a society have to really judge and push your beliefs on to them for who they love? oh, you're offended that the man sticks his dick in that mans asshole in their private bedroom? well, you're an adult. get the **** over it or if you really think about it that much, start taking dick yourself or don't open a business at all.

that we use the term "freedom" when what we are really talking about is treating someone else as not as equal as someone else is sickening.

we either have an actual society or we don't. if you want your religion (sure thing bedell, my view on this is a "religion" :rolleyes ) to be part of the gov't, go to the middle east! ISIS loves that type of thinking

I see you are back at it.

You must comply. You must submit. You must condone. You must approve. Or, you can not operate in the public sector. You can not have a business permit. You can not publicly express disapproval. Go in peace.

This one is a little threadbare by now, brother.

The owners of Memories Pizza–who happen to be people of faith–were the victims of bullying carried out by those wonderful, snuggly, “tolerance” preaching liberals we’ve all grown to know and love. The threats against them were so severe they were forced to close their doors.

What was their crime?

Standing up for religious liberty by stating they wouldn’t participate in catering a gay wedding because it violates their beliefs.

Well, Christian-hating liberals are no doubt pouting at this very moment as a GoFundMe page for the restaurant has raised over $200,000, but that’s not the best part.

The couple who own the establishment received an apology from a gay woman.

From TheBlaze:

In less than 24 hours, over 8,000 people have donated more than $228,000 for the embattled Christian owners of Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana. A slew of online threats forced the small business to close its doors after the owners told a local news station that they would refuse to cater for same-sex weddings based on their religious beliefs.

Among all of the donations was a $20 contribution that is being called the “greatest things I’ve seen in years” and the epitome of “real tolerance.” The GoFundMe page was set up by Lawrence Jones, a contributor TheBlaze TV’s “Dana.”

A woman, who identified herself as Courtney Hoffman, wrote:

“As a member of the gay community, I would like to apologize for the mean spirited attacks one and your business. I know many gay individuals who fully support your right to stand up for your beliefs and run your business according to those beliefs. We are outraged at the level of hate and intolerance that has been directed at you and I sincerely hope that you are able to rebuild.”

That is what TRUE tolerance looks like.

Obviously my source is bias. But then again, so is TheBlaze.

Seriously though. who gets a pizza place to cater a wedding? BBQ joint, I'd buy that. But Pizza? How many large pies can you order?

I just want to be clear here... can a business refuse business to anyone, ever??

If someone wants a cake that says the n-word over and over, can the business refuse that? What if it was a black man requesting it?

I just hate the hypocrisy. It seems like gay people are targeting businesses that they know they can create a fuss over. Why the hell do you want a Christian caterer of your wedding? Why does everyone have to agree with the liberal way, all the time? Get over it. Why do people insist on having "their" views be the end all be all?

You're confusing certain circumstances to blanket profiling.

You're not helping your case by building it based on choices people make. People choose or are raised to be racist, not the same case with homosexuality. If you're in the wedding business, then you shouldn't be allowed to discriminate. If you're in a different business and you don't want ot take on a gay wedding, fine.

I totally disagree. In fact, many Christian people believe adamantly that weddings are defined as one man and one woman. Forcing them to serve something that they philosophically disagree with is wrong and completely anti-freedom.

Again, why do people care. Go find the gay baker who wants to do all the gay weddings. Why do we have to force everyone to feel the same as the progressive left?

Because we have anti-discrimination laws in most states and some on the federal levels.

I won't really argue with you, you think we should allow businesses to discriminate freely and the market will adjust. Even if we have decades of evidence suggesting otherwise.

But you're only against certain discrimination. It's hypocritical. Either a business can refuse service or not

If I'm a pizza parlor. I can't refuse a slice to someone because they're gay. I think that's common sense. If I'm in the wedding business, I can't refuse service to someone because they're gay. Again common sense. I don't know why you're struggling so mightly with it. Replace gay with black if you want. I know your opinino won't change, but others may.
