It would be fun if sports fans could ever accept a loss without blaming officiating. I'm guilty too, after the Lions/Cowboys. I guess the common theme is everyone is out to get everyone.

Wisconsin will beat Duke, IMO
 
They didn't show the replay in the arena and I have not and will not watch it. Maybe they could have. Wouldn't surprise me if they blew another call.

Kentucky still wins if the game is called correctly.

It's naive to think that officiating doesn't affect the outcome of games. I know that's the fantasy we like to tell ourselves because it makes the competition more pure or whatever, but of course officiating affects things.

Again, Kentucky could have and should have overcome the officiating.. But they shouldn't have to. And even if they did it wouldn't make the officiating any less atrocious.

Not could. They should have. Definition of flagrant.

Most of my timeline was reading how the refs were giving Kentucky the game. After the shot clock gaffe it was they were giving Wisconsin the game.

Agreed. Officiating affects the game. I'm a UVA fan, and during the game against Mich. St. I was scramming about the officiating that went against us. When a watched the replay of the game a second time 2 days later, I saw just as many stupid officiating mistakes go in our favor.

It won't ever be perfect until we have robots... But until then, fans just use it as an excuse (niners being the worlds worst example)
 
People always think the refs are giving Kentucky the game because they hate Kentucky. Same with Duke.

This is the first time I've really complained about officials all year. I had no problems with them in the ND game, and wouldn't have even if we had lost. But they were pathetic last night.

That said, you can crap on Andrew for trying to take over late if you want.. But the fact is he carried us through that first half and most of the second. He was unreal last night. 4 bad minutes at the end of the game doesn't change that.

Ullis and Booker is a fair better offensive backcourt. Booker was obviously getting abused on defense but when situations occuree when you could sub defense for offense, they shouldnt stick with Harrison twins. Maybe Cal buys into the clutch gene or experience (although its only 1 year) but rinning a 1-4 isolation with maybe your 7th best offensive player makes zero sense.

Look at the statisitics. The offense bogs down when the Harrisons are in the game (relative to other players on the team).
 
Izzo's 10 games against Duke. MSU has been called for 59 more fouls and Duke has shot 119 more free throws.

If that goes down, Alabama fans should be quite pleased, he's a pretty good coach. If he hires a couple good recruiters, you've really got something there.
 
Refs certainly have big impact on the games, why giles and others act like this is asinine, i dont know.

Here's the thing though, you post like it's the only reason a team wins.

Are there terrible calls? Yes. It often goes both ways if you're looking for it. The last five minutes of that Wisconsin/Kentucky game last night was full of head scratching calls going both ways. I still don't know how a player can slap another player in the face, have it reviewed, and still not be called for a foul of any kind. I don't know how they miss such an obvious shot clock violation except to say it's college refs and it's expected they screw up. There were plenty more misses but that's not the reason one team won or lost. Wisconsin dominated the UK giants on the boards and that was really the key in preventing second shots especially when the Harrisons tried playing hero ball.

I'm sure MSU feels like they got screwed on some calls yesterday but I'm sure so does Duke. Likewise with Kentucky and Wisconsin. It's college basketball, bad calls happen all the time.

Refs arent the sole reason teams win.

Talent trumps all sometimes.

UK got shafted last night but alot can go into that.

Cal's coaching decisions, Harrison hero ball, not rebounding the ball, among some other things.
