There is still no team I hate losing to more than the Mets.
Yes, indeed. We haven't had a proper rivalry with them in years and it still burns me up to lose to the joke-ass Mets.

From the sound of this place a few weeks ago, I bet so.
All we heard was how they ruined this great team and that we were going to suck forever. I think we see the path now. Team is going to be built on what it was always built on and that is pitching. But now we are going to have guys that will make contact and not swing and miss often.

The team is not going to be good until we get some professional hitters in the lineup... And I don't mean Garret Anderson
Eventually EYJ/CJ/whoever is in LF is going to be replaced by more talented players. Nobody expects the offense to be good this year. But, their pitching is going to carry the team to more wins than most predicted this year.
Well that actually has to happen before we start pre-ordering our world series 2017 tickets. I don't see much talent on the FA market except the two we shipped out of town. We've proven we're unwilling to spend - although that could change after the Kimbrel trade
It was a fun series, which I expected us to lose coming into the season. I'm just going to enjoy being 3-0 today.
The Rockies are also 3-0, so I'm not wet dreaming yet.
I think its clear the Braves are going to struggle with lefties. I'd be surprised if we won more than 20% of the games against a lefty starting pitcher.
A strict platoon with Gomes and CJ would help that a lot.
Yes, with Gosselin at second. EY actually hits lefties better for his career and Maybin doesn't have good numbers at all vs lefties.

I like the pen. I'm not expecting the two young guys to go the whole year w/o giving up runs. And I know pitchers can be ahead of hitters early.
But those young guys seem to have good stuff. I like Johnson and Grille. Availan who knows. But that can be a good pen. And it's the braves so we know they have guys that can bring up later in the year.
This is a team that could sell off caispo (sp?) and CJ (please lord) and get better with Peterson over there and Peraza at 2B. There's a chance they could sell off the 4th and/or 5th starters and get better latter in the year if we have a healthy minor or get some improvement from Folty/ManBan.
At the end of the year we have some power arms in Hursh, Viz, guy we are stashing on the DL from the Rockies. We could flip Johnson and Grillie.
My dream is we are around 500. We flip ALL of those vets. And then we get some positive play from some combo of Minor, Folty, Peraza, ManBan, Cuban noodle arm, Hursh, Viz (i know steriods, but still has stuff), somebody we get in the trades for all of those vets.
