What's really funny is that Heyward profiles as the type of guy the Braves would want to keep. Doesn't K a lot, great defense, good or beter at virtually every aspect of baseball. And they would have had the money to keep him without the Markakis signing and the eventual unloading of BJ.
 
Solid debut overall, way to keep us in the game. Lets find a way to scratch one out here - If not, can't complain with 2 of 3 and 5-1
 
If you are using Markakis first week has a validation of your point then I don't know what to say.

I don't like that contract either, but that's not fair after 6 games.
 
McKirahan already showed us why he has reverse splits for his career. It's too bad we didn't start him that 8th...

How about the previous 4 years or so where he's averaged like 1.5 WAR? He's clearly not going to hit 208 all year but he has zero power, not good on defense, and just not a good player anymore.

Yeah that's fine and we have discussed this a lot, but give this guy more than 20 bats before the "I told you so" come out.
