That's blatantly ignoring the fact that Draymond Green is a legitimate contender for DPOY.
Again, with these guys its only about scoring. Despite what they say that is their pre-cursor for being max worthy.
Green is a better player than Melo without a shadow of a doubt.

Green is a better player for the Warriors than Melo would be, but for a team like the Knicks, Melo is more valuable.
I consider Green to be like a fine spice. You don't want it to be your main course, but it can make any meal taste much better.

There is certainly more to basketball than scoring. Have Love, Cousins, or Melo ever played with another max level superstar (obv Love this year with the Cavs probably walking into finals)
Green is a very good player. If you want to pay him to be the 1st or 2nd best player on the team; sobeit. He's a perfect fit in GS and probably a few other teams, but there are a bunch of teams that shouldn't pay him max money.
That is well put.
But, you guys are saying Green shut down Davis? He was 9-22 for 26 points and 10 rebounds. Coming off a 35 point effort last game.
In what way is Melo a better player than Green?

For the Knicks? How valuable is Green going to be when he isn't taking open jumpers and isn't playing in a good defensive system.
I'm not taking about value to individual teams. I'm looking at the players in a vaccum and asking myself who can help me win in more ways.

That's entirely different point than what I was making.
You contested my point when I was very obviously looking at players not in a vacuum (which if you argue so strongly for evaluating team basketball, then you, by definition, have to evaluate players that way.)

This is hilarious.
Looking at in a vaccuum helps identify the different strengths a player has and exactly what types of teams he can help. Draymond is a better fit for more teams than Melo is in my opinion because of the many more things he can do.

I'll take him at his max-contract over Carmelo Anthony or Draymon Green at theirs any day.
So basically you are posting a bunch of stats that help Melo because of the type of player he is. They don't actually tells us anything about him being better than Draymond. Lets just ignore that Green has a better Ortg/Drtg (laughably so).
The overrating of Melo on these boards and just in general is a joke.
Only reason I may debate Butler/Green is because Green can guard 4's. Thats not really what you want to do with Butler. However, Butler is a better scorer/shooter while being a top defender.
