4/22/15 GDT:

The Mets are short-handed and living a pretty charmed life. They made some really nice defensive plays tonight, so you've got to give them some credit.

Why?

He should be in the fckn lineup. One of our most consistent hitters right now. That fat piece of Cuban sperm had all of our lefties in the lineup.

Learn to take a damn pitch, and he might stay in the lineup. Two AWFUL check swings in a row. Go up there ready to freaking hit or go home.

It was a tough loss in a close game, but I fail to see how Fredi was the difference in winning or losing this game.

He was there to do one thing...tie the game up...he singles or doubles then it's up to the prude hitting of EYJ or Callapso to bring him in. This game was over when Gomes watched two fastballs at 88 MPH go by against Buddy "The Butt Fck" Carlyle.

Sure, but you aren't going to tie the game up with half-ass check swings on low and away offspeed.

Again, it all comes down to putting your team in the best position. The way he just completely ignores statistics is amazing.

The loss is on the offense first and foremost. Going to be a year full of 3-2 losses.

.310 .382 .448 overall.

.364 .417 .455 vs LHP.

.278 .364 .444 vs RHP.

This is just another classic example of Fredi not putting a player in the best position to succeed.

I'm with you on all that in general, but we'll have to agree to disagree as it relates to this specific game. I had no issues with the lineup, and no issues with pitching our 2nd and 3rd best relievers in the 7th and 8th innings. It just so happens that we missed some opportunities on offense and our 7th and 8th inning relievers didn't pitch their best.

I think AJ and Gomes should visit FF with a pillow case full of soap when he is asleep. After 10 minutes he should be good. Striking out with men on base on flat fastballs is not acceptable. Maybe he had a hard-on for Toronto pitching only.

I thought the lineup was fine, and overall, he's done fine working with what he has in that respect. My issue was pulling KJ when he hits lefties better (I believe) and Gilmartin had walked two straight. Putting in Gomes was useless because that just allowed Collins to go right to the pen, and you might have been burning a pinch hitter for later.

I'm with Sturg on letting Martin go another inning, although it's hard to hide Johnson when he's that bad.

The future of baseball is guys slapping at the baseball. Glad our system is full of guys who do that well.
