It's OVER 5,000!
He's been helping carry Houston this past week including 5 homers in his last 5 and something like 12-14 RBI's. He had the big 9th inning double vs the A's to bring them back and again today hit a homer to win it 7-6 after they blew a 6-1 lead (and also his three run homer in the first got them off to a 3-0 lead early). Now Houston has the best record in the AL and their best start in franchise history at 18-7. They have also won ten straight, two off their franchise record 12 straight. It will be interesting to see if they tie or break that record against Texas next. They have their ace going tomorrow so they have a shot.

Harper looks like he's about to go nuts this year but he's still not going to be better than Trout.
Even if Trout has "peaked", his peak is still the best.
Harper isnt better than Trout, wont ever be, health provided, both are amazing players but Trout's still far better.
Trout's last 3 years are freaking historic.
.300+ AVG, near 400 OBP, 30+ bombs, 90-100 RBI's, i mean, i dont get how this is a comparison.

Harper this year- .261 AVG, 5 HR's, 15 RBI's, 34 K's, .414 OBP
Trout this year- .318 AVG, 6 HR's, 15 RBI's, 24 K's, .425 OBP
Still no, i dont think you realize how great/awesome Mike Trout really is.
And Trout is only 1 year older, so the age difference doesnt value much.

I'd take Trout over Harper. Any right-thinking baseball fan would.
You shouldn't really take some of the things thethe says at face value. Harper isn't the best player in baseball and likely will never be. One of the best? Sure.
I don't lose sleep at night if people aren't taking me seriously. Based on what I've seen of Harper I believe he isn't close to reaching his potential.

I just don't know how the Yankees can say they're not going to pay his bonuses for reaching these milestones. Like no, **** you, New York, you made the deal, all risks included.

I know he would never do it but wouldn't it be nice to have Alex come out publicly and say that instead of receiving the bonus money himself, please write out a check for so and so charity? Maybe some baseball related charity? Then the Yankees would have to fork out the dough.

Harper was a better hitter at 19 than Heyward ever was in his career.

It isn't in his MLB contract from what I read ( could be incorrect ) but in his advertising contract for merch and such. The Yankees made that deal with the idea you can make money off of it with marketing materials\promotions\etc... but they view the milestone as unmarketable milestones because no one believes him because off all the PED use. It isn't a guaranteed contract like his MLB pay.
I don't think Bryce will ever be able to catch Trout assuming both stay healthy. If they were equal hitters, Trouts ability to play CF would set him apart. It is fun to watch both these guys hit though and I can't remember a time where we had 2 guys at age 21/22 with this hitting ability.
Griffey/Bonds is the closest thing I can remember even though it was exactly that young.

Harper is talented and will be good. Trout has the opportunity to be one of the best position players in the game. Especially with his CF defense. Dude is a monster.
