NBA Thread

I have said in this thread in the past that I really like D Mo and certain other players. But you are naming all these players that are good and not citing how a lot of them missed significant portions of the season. At what point does Harden start getting credit for pulling this team together? (Not from the media, they clearly see that. It's you guys) The players that did succeed absolutely benefitted from the gravity that Harden pulls which allows them to take uncontested three's.

I'm a tremendous Harden fan in terms of the type of player he is. I've never made the argument he isn't a great player.

But I don't root for the rockets or particularly like or dislike any player (aside from Howard who I don't care for much). I think any reasonable basketball fan could watch Beverly and D-Mo and realize the yare good players (moreso D-Mo).

And I also don't think you have a good ability to scout players on the TV when you aren't watching the Rockets all that much.

Well then you are the exception to the people here that say Harden is overrated.

I also have to give you credit as you have pretty consistently recognized how good Harden is. So none of that criticism is directed at you.

To be perfectly honest I don't think you need to watch a player 20/30/50 times to really see what type of ability they have. Players flash the same moves frequently over the course of a few games and you can see how they react to different stimuli. D-Mo is TREMENDOUSLY skilled for a man his size and also has a very nice shooting touch. He can go over each shoulder and can actually handle the ball against bigger defenders. In that system I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to be a 18/8/3(assist) guy next year.

Hopefully after last nights game, we can cut this Harden has no help crap.

Given they made the run with Harden on the bench.

But they're the Knicks without him, of course.

No expecting it though.

Blind squirrel. Heck, even the Wiz beat the Hawks without Wall

Oh, so they won games consistently all year because of Harden.

Other than any team LeBron on,t hat holds no basis.

With Beverely, and DMo, Houston is a legit 9-10 deep.

They have a great supporting cast, yes, great.

Did I ever say his teammates suck?

There's a vast range of possibilities between suck and excellent. It doesn't have to be the ends of the spectrum.

But continue hating on Harden because he isn't with OKC anymore. I know you say differently, but what you post indicates otherwise.

The only thing consistent is your hatred of Harden because he was traded by OKC. You can't stand to live in a world where he's a great player.

Their supporting cast was great last night. They've had good moments. But James Harden is the reason they are where they are to this point. I'm sorry that your bitterness won't allow you to appreciate that fact.

Harden is one of the top 5-10 players in basketball.

Just because i dont think he's as good as you and others doesnt mean i hate the guy.

They had a great year because of Harden but you dont put 14 DLeaguers on the team and they have the same record.

The way you and giles make it seem anyway.

Lol.

Smell ya Pierce! Can't say I'm sorry about that, but Wiz played well. Got away with a LOT from the refs, but made it though. Wall and Beal are bad men.

They gave us everything we could handle and then some. It's a shame the officiating was so bad because it really was a great series.

Nice to see Beal step up and become a man this playoffs, he's still crazy young. The backcourt of a Wall/Beal will be among leagues best for sometime. Wall is such a great player. It's a shame they don't get much help from the front court or Pierce (until there is 2 mins left in game). Wall/Beal/Porter is an excellent young core. If they can get 1 max player to sign (Durant/Boogie/etc), they may be a contender for the best team in the EC

I'm not watching but just saw the score, watching hockey.

Not too surprising of a result, Houston has a much better team than LA, and the record for teams in Game 7's at home is crazy.

Rarely do road teams win Game 7's on the road in the NBA at least lately.
