5/17/15 Braves @ Marlins

Since jsebe10 is on a "I told you so" tirade, I thought I'd say that Hawk's post in that old Heyward trade thread was the most level headed IMO. He said this: "I like Shelby Miller, I just don't like him in exchange for Jason Heyward." (me and others thanked that post back then).

That said, I am not surprised by jsebe10's little tirade in this game thread since he didn't like Heyward then or now. In fact, his complaint at the time was that we'd traded Walden..

I dont think he didnt like Heyward, just didnt think he was a superstar like some on here thought he was.

His past track record in game threads, his not even mentioning him but complaining about trading Walden, and his "Screw Heyward" comments tell a different story. But I am not surprised you'd argue otherwise since you thanked his post that he ends with "Screw Heyward." Of course you likely did so just as another childish shot at Hawk, who you apparently get a kick out of annoying the same way you do me and others here.

Oh I don't know... because I'm the one you directly replied to and called my statement idiotic? Over react much?

I replied to you after you quoted me, then I went back a few posts to find your quote about Shelby Miller being more consistent than Medlen/Teheran.

You remember that time Medlen tossed 35 consecutive scoreless innings?

You then told me to take Xanax, demanded to know why I called your statement idiotic, and now are badgering me about overreacting -- which is ironic because I am basically signaling for you to leave me alone.

People reacted negatively when the most popular player on the team was traded before taking the time to rationally think through the return. Surprise surprise.

I think it is a taddddddd bit unfair to mock someone for reacting to the heat in the moment. I think for the most part most of the board has been pretty satisfied for the return for Heyward even if they still wish the team extended him.

And I'm with Hawk in not thinking that Shelby Miller's night is done much justice by folks who feel the need to rub out their simplistic vindication boners at every shadow of an opportunity.

Agreed.

It's impossible to appreciate what Heyward did for the franchise and appreciate the return in the trade. Mutual exclusion cannot exist.

I've never hated Heyward. But the crying about his trade like a school girl finding out the Beatles split up just made me and many disconnect themselves from his time here. Sorry if you find me annoying. I really find your posts annoying too especially when you give a play by play of a play that we all just literally saw on TV

Never once mocked anyone. I posted both negative and positive reactions for reading pleasures only. Interpret them how you will

I didn't say you hated him, I just don't believe you particularly liked him based on your track record towards him in the past and present. As far as my posts being annoying due to occasional play by play comments. If that annoys you then you shouldn't read game threads since it's common for posters to break down certain plays in game threads (I'm hardly alone in doing so). Plus sometimes we even have readers that cannot watch that appreciate such details too.

How dare chipper jones bring up the Heyward trade after Shel Mel almost went no no. Guys a real dick for that if you ask me.

Now everyone can calm down.

You remember that time Miller threw 2 complete game shutouts in 3 starts? Because Medlen and Teheran have never done that.

So now we've switched to moving the goalposts.

Medlen was the best pitcher in baseball the last two months of 2012; 9-0, 34 consecutive shut out innings (only bested by Maddux), ERA under 1. Has Miller done that? Which is the stronger mark of consistency?

So people on a message board decide how you view a certain player?

I actually said I couldn't remember a pitcher consistently lasting as long into games... not consistency over all. Medlen was fantastic over that stretch... I never said he wasn't... in fact, I even said in a post replying to someone else that Medlen would be the only one close I could think of. But Medlen still had quite a few starts going only 6 or 7 innings in that stretch.

My exact quote that you can go back and read if you so choose:
"You're right about Medlen... that one stretch he had was ridiculous for 12-13 starts."
