Alberto Callaspo Possibly Being Traded

As others have said, it all depends on that prospect coming from LA. If he's possessive of a soupcon of decency then it could be worth it.

It also depends on the three prospects we're giving up, when it comes to lottery tickets three is often better than one. Time will tell.

While Uribe doesn't get me wet with anticipation.

I'll bet that we get some relief help in this one.

It seems the Johns are trying to compete a bit now that we've shown some semblance of paletability

I guess "prospect" can be a broad definition, but a front office so hell bent on making sure the farm is built back is gonna give up three prospects for a fat ass with an OPS under .600 and a bad contract?

Heck if Callapso gets us nothing but a draft pick I'd consider this signing a win.

Callaspo is likely in this deal just to make the cash work, a throw-in basically. It's the three prospects we're giving up that's the value from the Dodgers point of view.

Uribe is far superior to Callapso.

I don't get why we'd be in on Uribe mind you, I'm virtually certain we'll have to give up a prospect as I doubt the Dodgers will cut him or care about the money difference. They don't have money issues. If we trade any prospect who' sin our top 30 with Callaspo for Uribe, I'll be confused. It would mean they think they can compete this year, but don't want to invest the prospects to go after a real talent like Frazier.

Depending on the details, there could be some logic here. First, the trade helps us in 2015. Maybe the original intention was to punt on 2015, but with the team hanging around .500 why not go for the upgrade. Second, we could be using some of the money freed up in the Kimbrel trade to pick up the superior prospect involved in the trade.

Yea, we better be getting back a very good prospect and not giving up too much in return because Uribe is a free agent and makes more than twice what Callaspo does. Very odd.

Well, at that point, it becomes very irritating that we traded Kimbrel (saved by the fact we got rid of Melvin) and Justin. A good power bat and bullpen are our weaknesses right now. Don't see how Uribe makes us better than .500, but maybe the prospect we're getting is good.

Callaspo and Uribe both represented by same agent. Interesting factor in Callaspo's decision to accept/deny deal.

If it's not a decent prospect, then this is so random. It would literally make no sense to give up a player and THREE prospects to take on money...

If I were him, I'd be all over playing in L.A. We aren't going anywhere this year.

Would think that bridge would have already been crossed with this being the case.
