Freeman to the DL a strong possibility per Bowman.

Considering we beat Grienke and were in great position to beat Kershaw before Fredi Fredi'd, I'd tend to disagree

We averaged 3.5 RPG in that series. 10.5 k/9.
What you said isn't wrong, no, but it does not illustrate the point you're attempting to make. We did not hit well in that series.
That team's tendency to go on prolonged stretches where every other batter struck out and swung and missed was a killer.

We just beat 2 INCREDIBLE pitchers and another top flight prospect without our best hitter. I don't believe that happens with either the 2013 or 2014 teams and those temas had much better pitching.

Averaging 3.5 runs per game in the playoffs isn't too bad of a deal. Especially facing Kershaw, Greinke, Ryu, Kershaw. Certainly the offense gave us a chance to win the series.

I mean 2 years ago we won games when Freddie and Jason couldn't hit their way out of paper bags cause of Justin carrying the team.

This may be the oddest argument I've ever read on here.

But there is the variation argument I've made before. They averaged 3.5 runs but they had an "outburst" of 6 runs while the other games they didn't score as much as you'd like to win games.

Against pitchers the calibar that we just beat?

I don't think people realize how good Degrom is yet.

The Cards averaged 3.5 runs per game in their series vs. the Dodgers and won the series. That includes a 9 run outburst in game 6.

Braves scored 1, 3, 4, 6
Cards scored 0, 1, 3, 4, 4, 9

The Cards averaged 3.17 runs per game in their series vs. the Dodgers and won the series. That includes a 9 run outburst in game 6.

Great!

Their team was built on their pitching. We were built on home runs and a bullpen.

And averaged 3 runs per game in the process. Wait, what?

Only scoring 2 vs. Greinke is pathetic, but scoring 1 off Harvey and 2 off Degrom is amazing!

How many runs per game is Freeman worth?

His worth per game is meaningless over a 3 game sample. He could produce 0 runs or 10 runs in a short sample.

I'm fairly confident though we would have scored more runs with him inthe lineup.
