Maybe. The kcik with trades, is because general value is assumed the same, doesn't mean what the GM values is the same. I heard it all th etime with the Hudson trade, Phillies fans blasting off about how they could have matched that. First by all accounts they weren't even on the radar, second, Beane loved Meyer.
