Potentional Maybin trade with Giants

How well thought of is susac? Could we get him for Maybin or is that even a good trade for us? If we sent Maybin and AJ to Giants, could we get more than Susac?

I thought Susac was well thought of. I really don't keep up with prospects outside of the Braves' though.

Agreed. Not a fan of moving Maybin. However if the front office is open to discussing him in deals, what teams are in the market?

What would we trying to get from the Giants for Maybin?

Susac is pretty well thought of, he was a top 100 prospect going into the season. #88 with BA, 97 with BP, and in the 88ish area with FG. Susac and another small prospct seems like a pretty good deal to me for Maybin. People are really over inflating Maybin's value if they think we are going to get a top 50 prospect for him.

If we could get Susac in a trade for Maybin and someone like Austin Barnes in a trade with the Dodgers for Grilli or J Johnson we'd be in very good shape at C for the near future.

While Maybin has been awesome this year, he missed a lot of time the previous 3 years between suspensions and injury, and when he did play, he sucked (81 OPS+). When you also consider his salary and years of control, I think we would be very lucky to get Susac for him.

Teams need a balance of veterans and young players. Knowning that Gomes and AJ are gone; it would be wise to keep him as one of the core group since he is under control for a few more years.

One time where I agree with you 100 percent. Rentals like Grilli are one thing; lame ducks like Heyward are just good baseball sense. A hot team leader like Maybin has been an absolute godsend for this team and would be next to impossible to replace atop the order.

Susac doesn't impress me, especially when we played the Giants. He's not that great defensively which is what we need.

We could trade Maybin for Susac and sign span for cf if we don't feel Mallex is ready. Seems it will easier to sign an outfielder than a catcher this offseason
