Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

Hart has essentially traded most of Freeman's BFF's on the team.

I wonder how happy Freddito is about this.

The Braves - Dodgers deal still might get done tonight. Now, that might mean in the middle of the night, but it still might get done.

I ask this as someone who is luke warm at best on this trade . . .

What kind of bat (and contract) do you think Alex Wood could have gotten if traded in the offseason?

Realistic (I think) hope at this point. Braves holding out for more after their specialists looked at Olivera medicals.

I hope the Braves are smart enough to get a second opinion. Our "specialists" are special in all the wrong ways.

6 years / $34.5m for Olivera.

If Alex Wood is a super two and stays healthy, I'd guesstimate 4 years / $30m. If he's not a super two and stays healthy, I'd guesstimate 4 years / $25m.

I think you're pretty low on your estimate of Wood's salaries moving forward. If he's not tied up for his arbitration years, I could see him at $40 MM for the timeline you've laid out provided his performance remains steady.

There is no way in hell yanks turn down Judge for Wood. Or really any team with a non top 5 type hitting prospect that is looking for pitching.

On the other hand, if Wood gets TJ in 2018, we might get him pretty cheap once he's a FA and it could still fit pretty well with Fart's philosophy.

From what I've heard in NY the Yankees have no interest in trading either Judge or Severino.
