Thanks for telling me what you think.

I think giles likes both teams. I don't necessarily think he dislikes the Braves and is upset that we are running away with the division. I just think he's the type of fan who pulls for the local teams, I mean he does pull for Old Dominion in basketball. Can't remember if he said he attended there or not but he's the only Old Dominion fan I know.
I just don't know how you root for two division rivals. I live 10 minutes from Philly and can't imagine rooting for the Phils. To each his own.
LOL of thinking I root for 2 teams. Lol off even carrying who I root for.
Tell me why it matters to you whether I root for Phils, Nats, Braves, Cardinals, or Yankees?

The internet is hilarious, if you defend a team or player then you're a fan of that team.
No, I'm pretty sure it just means you aren't a 12 year old and can praise other teams and players, other than your own.

I don't miss the witch hunt on giles' fandom from the old site.
I just think Harper is a lightning rod. In one thread about the Nats, I posted that he could "probably" be the best player in baseball within the next three years and the thread became a meeting of the Mike Trout Fan Club. I suppose I could have written that Harper "could conceivably within the next half decade perform at a level that could possibly make him one of the premier players in the entirety of professional baseball provided Mike Trout decides to retire after posting the first 50 WAR season," but my guess is even having Harper's name in the thread would have brought out a crowd that would have worked to find someone who ranks above him.
For the record, I don't like Harper. More attitude and drama than a junior high school dance. He played by the rules getting into baseball, but I thought that he and his father made it all about him and it seems that it has pretty much been that way ever since.

I don't get how people say he's better than Trout.
Or could.
Trout posted the first 10+ WAR since Bonds on roids. And is on pace to post a 8-9 WAR season this year at 21-22.
Outside of pure power, what does he have over Trout?
Answer: nothing.
Mike Trout is the best all around player in baseball, he has no holes in his game.
It will be difficult to be better than Trout, but he could be close offensively IMO. I could see him hitting 40-45 homers yearly with a high average if he puts it all together. But even with all the talent in the world that's not easy to do.
Trout hits for higher average, has a higher OBP, plays superior defense, better base runner.
And Trout will hit around 30+ HR's if he stays healthy the rest of this season.
Harper hitting a few more homers won't close the gap at all.
And 40-45 is a lot of bombs.
There's like two to three players in the league who will hit that for this year. It's all projection with Bryce, while Trout is already proven to be a superstar player.
