Bryce Harper Megathread

But they didn't win the WS. But lets say that they had. How much is your soul worth? I'd rather win one where no one can say "yeah but you had to cheat"...

I don't condone him cheating but I don't know how well-known or confirmed it was, and he made them an amazing team.

I think you're going overboard on how horrible Harper and his dad are..

We'll see but when you make decisions that cause your child to be maladjusted then you clearly weren't putting the best interests of the child in place. But it's ok cause he can hit a baseball so he'll cope with life...eventually...

In the locker room it's very well known who's doing what. So they had to have a cheater to be amazing. That's more sad than respectable...to me anyway...

LOL a lot of players were doing it then.

And that doesn't make it right. I grew up in an NFL locker room and the coaches used to post the dates and times of when players were getting their "random" drug test. Doesn't make it right at all.

How is he maladjusted?

How is he maladjusted?

How you seen his interviews? The guy doesn't know how to talk to people. I know YOU'LL never be convinced of it but he clearly has poor social skills and growing up with 24-7 dedication to something plays a big part in that. Of course he's not the first maladjusted athlete to grace to planet; a large chuck of them are. Nature of the beast but some tend to handle themselves better than degrading reporters or threatening to put someone six feet under...

I don't disagree, but that's not the point.

It was the point to me. I'd rather lose with some dignity then to win with a team full of scumbags. You're supposed to have pride when your team wins. If I knew my team was a bunch of scumbag cheaters it would be hard to drum up the pride. I'd feel pretty empty but integrity means something to me.

Yes, I see his interviews on the local station all the time. Not knowing how to talk to the media is completely separate from not knowing how to talk to people.

If you say so. Ryan Leaf must of just been miss understood when he didn't know how to talk to the media either...

Knowing a handful or so of major leaguers, you probably would be disappointed then to find out about some of the characters of guys around the majors and on your team, specifically.

We already know Heyward doesn't love baseball. We've come to accept it.

Believe me I do. I've been around professional athletes my entire life. I have a good friend who was close Glenn Hubbard and the stories about certain players were amazing. Some really good(horrible) Marcus Giles stuff btw. So don't give me that crap about me being disappointed. I speak from experience that's why I feel the way I do about how certain players act. That's why I don't view teams or players by production alone. You can be good at sports without being an arrogant prick. But the "AAU culture" that's running through all the major sports makes me sad.

Any chance you could share any Marcus stories? I know he was a wife beater....
