If ANY of you have ever taught in the public schools this will come as no surprise, more and more teachers in the public schools are just there for a paycheck, either because the good teachers have left to go to other jobs that actually allow them to teach instead of playing bouncer all day, or they've just gone into other career fields. Those good teachers who did stay and stick it out I have to utmost respect for, but I couldn't hack it, I was there for 6 years and that was enough for me. I have been at a local community college for the past 16+ years and it can be a pain in the butt from time to time but it's a great gig all in all. I wouldn't trade it for any other. With that said in the 6 years (plus I traveled a local high school to help out with their Spanish program for one year back in 2001-2002) I worked with a grand total of ONE really good administrator, the rest were fooking idiots who would literally do anything to keep the parents happy with them so they could keep their jobs. The local authorities should have handled this situation differently/better, but I am fine with them taking it as a threat (cause you just never know these days) but it shouldn't take that long to tell a clock from a timer based bomb, ie the missing explosives. I don't know exactly what all enforcement did but they have to take these things seriously as well, but also they should have recognized there was no threat in about 3 seconds after seeing the device.
I know I've mentioned this several times, but there are literally thousands of DUMASs in Texas who STILL literally believe that Obama is going to invade them any day now. Exactly what sort of logical response and/or professionalism do you expect from people who have thrown away their common sense and allowed a political party to literally do ALL of their thinking for them??
