Where's the other half of this chart? You know, the one with all the talent and youth acquired for the guys above.
Seems to me the only guy the Braves traded who really made a difference for new team was Jonny Gomes.
No need. Glad to get the mention though. Don't know anyone in the front office (or even any of their 7th or 8th third cousins as far as I know unlike several people around who purport to KNOWING anything). Did have 2 of the 3 names right BTW - knew Richards was a pipe dream, but it never hurts to ask (or hope).
Loved seeing that Coppy told the Mutts they'd have to give up Harvey or DeGrom.
Most of the national writers are scratching their head on this one...
My biggest issue, though, is that the front office isn't explaining any of this to the fan base. They can't just keep trading the most identifiable players without any warning or explanation and not expect some serious backlash eventually. They're playing with fire in that respect.
FWIW alot of Angels fans dont like it either.

This is the kind of trade that is not a bad one in reality for the Braves but it sucks...if that makes sense.
It's just tough to continue losing cornerstones for unknowns who won't be up immediately. There is a plan in place, and this offseason looks like it will likely be at least as volatile as the last one for us.
I hate losing Simmons, so emotionally I don't like the trade right now. But I do understand it from the Braves' perspective, and there's certainly a chance it helps us. If we're not truly going to compete this year or in 2017, which is likely, then Simmons provides a good option to trade because of Albies' presence in the system and the years remaining on Simmons' contract for a decent price. And the return is good; I would have liked more, but if both sides are unhappy, the value was probably at least pretty even.

Thanks for sharing this, a bit astonishing to see they unanimously hate this deal as well.

Angels just lost 2 best prospects without filling any of their holes.

He's right.
There is a good chance that next year will be the WORST year in attendance in turner field history
From rosenthal basically updated his article from earlier...he thinks it's a clear cut win for the Angels

I'm OK with trading Simmons as well... but at some point we have to trade some of these tremendous assets for a bat, don't we? And not one who is 30 years old!
What is the necessity of trading Simmons on Nov. 12? You guys act like he's a 30-year-old on the verge of falling apart.
What is the rush?
Is this Newcomb kid just the end-all, be-all of prospects?
