Stanford lost two games. They aren't in the discussion for being in the playoff. (One of the best four teams)

I have no dog in this fight... I have no reason to hate on Mich St... but acting like they were one of the 4 best teams in the country in ridiculous. Alabama would not have handled OSU so easily

Your VT analogy is poor being that VT went on to lose like 4 more games that season. MSU lost 1 game in the regular season, just like OSU. I have hard time believing OSU was considerably better (if at all even) than MSU .

Sometimes you simply don't get a favorable match up in the playoffs. That doesn't mean you're not still a very good team. OSU probably does match up better vs. Bama simply because their offense is much better. But it's also doubtful they stop Bama from scoring any easier than MSU. I have zero doubt MSU plays Clemson or OU much better than they played Bama, simply because those teams are better matchups for them.
 
Yeah they got absolutely blown out, but the program has made great strides in Dantonio'a tenure. I'd rather lose a game that means something then win one that doesn't.

I didn't say they should have been in the top 4 (they lost twice), I simply said that right now they are one of the top 4 teams in America. The bowl system isn't designed to pick the 4 best teams at the moment, it's designed to pick the 4 teams with the best record (with bias on how those teams performed recently). Stanford would likely be favored over everyone but, Bama, Clemson, and maybe Ohio State.
 
Michigan State wasn't one of the top 4 teams; hell, you could argue they weren't one of the top 10 teams in the country. They just weren't that great of a team; anyone can see that that watched them without Niner glasses on.
 
NCAA has really, really butchered the postseason schedule this year. First, not playing the semifinal games on New Year's Day.

Then scheduling the championship the day after NFL wild card weekend when everybody wants to talk about what happened in Cincinnati and Minnesota.

This game should have been scheduled for last Thursday or Tuesday of this week.
 
Just saw where if you don't want to watch the game broadcast on ESPN tonight, you can do one of the following:

A.) Live analysis from ESPN experts and current coaches on ESPN 2,
B.) Live analysis and commentary from ESPN personalities and celebrities on ESPNWest,
C.) A homer's telecast with a former Clemson player and former Alabama player on ESPNU, or
D.) Live analysis from Paul Finebaum and his crew on the SEC Network.

Come on, people. Just watch the game.
 
The guy singing America the Beautiful sounded horrendous. Hope he can write songs better than he sings them.
 
Not a great first half by Bama. Considering it's tied at halftime, that's about as good as I could hope for. Coker has got to get rid of the ball earlier. He held on to the ball way too long. Got to do a better job of controlling Watson. Lay some more hits on him. With now that it appears Alexander may be out, lets see how that affects Clemson's defensive backfield.

I make this point as a normal human being. Enjoy the ride CC. You are watching your team play for the damn National Championship. Don't not enjoy the ride.
