Sanders is a better candidate than Clinton

I don't think the radical epithet really fits Bernie Sanders, nor did I think it fit Ron Paul, nor do I think it fits his son, nor do I really think it fits any of the candidates of the two major parties (and indeed it is, in some part, because they are candidates of one of the two major parties that it doesn't fit).

Sanders may be a left of where candidates receiving his level of coverage usually sit, but I hard think he qualifies as a real "radical."

I'm curious, what would constitute a true radical to you in American presidential politics?

The only people who's payroll taxes would be increased are people making over the current cap (which i believe is 250K)

Cruz is a radical religious candidate. Anyone who is not into that will vote against him.

Why would you consider him radical on that point, based on American demographics?

I think that fear is ridiculously overblown. How many Christian President have we had since Roe v Wade... and nothing changes... The Republicans don't want that law changed as it's a voter rally cry... just like the left uses the fear mongering of it changing.

Listening to Hilary, you'd think if a Republican wins then all women will be required to quit their jobs and get back in the kitchen

^^^ This is spot on.

But there's different levels of pro-life. Some believe abortion is never an option, even if the woman's life is at risk or rape etc.

Someone who, in terms of our political institutions, wants to essentially destroy and/or entirely reinvent the system(s), not simply tweak them, take something away, or add something. But, I also don't any sort of candidate like that is likely in the US, because—to paraphrase someone much smarter than me—America inherently takes the revolutionary and transmutes it into reform policies.

That's still not a "radical" position. If you believe it is a human life, then it is the only acceptable position.

I don't believe in the right to abort because of incest or rape. I don't believe in creating two victims from that. If the birth would definitively kill the mother, then I would be OK with it as long as the doctor was willing to testify after that the mother would have died during child birth

What the ****? I mean seriously what the ****?

Bernie Sanders thread being better than Clinton

limited gov't guy brings up abortion in it

awesome

I do think Bernie can beat Trump. Trump is an odd wildcard. He has a chance to win big, because he's got that weird celebrity thing going on. But he could also just implode if he finally just says something so absurd that everyone finally has to step back and be like, what were we thinking?

I think he'd have a hard time beating anyone else though in this environment with ISIS, government dissatisfaction and the economy being the three biggest issues. And the crazy old man thing is going to be tough to overcome as well. But there is definitely a path to victory for him if Trump is the nominee. Now with that in mind I would be shocked if the dems don't run Biden or another candidate if Hillary implodes or is indicted.

Gore could come out and easily win the nod if he got off the bench.
