2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

I mean... Bernie's plan to "pay" for his ambitions doesn't mathematically work. If you can't understand this, then there's no help for you

Perhaps some view the plan as bigger than "Bernies Plan"
Point is we are discussing what will and what won't.

I don't know that single payer has ever been a tending topic before.
Even you are publicly considering/discussing it !!

Guess we have moved on from repeal and replace ACA

Bernie says he'll . . .
Bernie says he'll . . .
Bernie says he'll . . .
Bernie says he'll . . .
Bernie says he'll . . .

It should read, "Bernie says he'd . . . if he had unilateral power. But he will not."

If I go up to a rich man on the street and take his wallet... then give his cash to homeless people... I'd imagine we'd both agree that is stealing.

But when the government does it, it's a revolution dude!!!

no

it's called taxes

we aren't talking about rocket science here

You say that, but I don't see where Bernie is proposing some sort of blank slate.

He says he'll raise taxes on corporations and go after money stashed abroad - so that means we'll still have corporations.

He says he'll raise taxes on the top 1% - so that means we'll still have people working at those corporations, presumably at relatively high salaries.

He says he'll raise taxes on what he calls Wall St speculation - so that means we'll still have investment bankers making large financial transactions.

He says he'll raise the capital gains tax - so that means we'll still have relatively high wealth individuals holding capital (it's not just going to be confiscated).

What I'm seeing is a guy proposing to raise tax revenue through the existing economy/society to pay for HC, education, jobs, etc, but smart people analysing his plans are saying that his cash inflows are nowhere near able to cover the costs of his ideas. I don't see a guy saying "we're going to tear it all down and start from scratch!" If that's the plan, then why is he selling solutions to fit within the current model?

i think he should go with a blank slate

a true political revolution (non violent one)

what he will have to do is play the game some though to get anything done and unfortunately that doesn't allow a total rebuild of an overall corrupt system

and with that, i would then say do what he is trying to do a almost do an upgraded new deal which the original new deal is what brought more wealth to more people in this country and spring boarded this country to become the wealthiest country in the world

Slew of polls were released today. first time in a long time, a poll has someone but Trump as being the presidential candidate in a long time. NBCNews/WSJ have Cruz slightly ahead. Though 2 other polls (USA Today/Suffolk and Quinnipiac) have trump well ahead of the field still. The latter 2 also had polls out for dems, USAToday has Clinton +100 Quinnipiac has Clinton +2

CNN Nevada poll has Trump crushing the opposition, not really a shock, he's a casino man he should rock Nevada. Clinton+1 which is well within MOE. PPP did a NC poll which gave Trump a pretty healthy lead, and Clinton with a big lead.

I think SC is going to be a big test for Rubio. There are signs that he might be the guy that the anti-Trump establishment vote wants to coalesce around. He's got the endorsement of the two most popular Republicans (per polling) in the state. If he doesn't assert himself, Bush's deep pockets and the more moderate electorates in the March primary states might present a bigger challenge. It's all there for him—he just has to do something to distinguish himself.

People have been waiting for him to distinguish himself since August. But there is nothing there to distinguish. The Valentine meme BedellBrave says everything there is to say about Rubio.

I wonder if Gov Haley committed political suicide with her endorsement not understanding why she felt the need to make any endorsement. Ala Sen Warren in Mass

that's my point she has been wisely tracking to the center which is where the survivors of (R) will wind up. The ultra right pendulum should be about to change course.

Regardless Rubio is not going to be anything but a footnote in a couple weeks, why hitch her wagon to him?
Just don't see how this endorsement could possibly serve her well. Down the road

Silly partisan tripe.

Your love for Crist is strong.

I don't think Haley hurt herself with an endorsement. It's a riskier move than not endorsing, but it's a potential high-reward move with a limited downside.

She's always looking out for number one, and she doesn't have anywhere else to go in the state of South Carolina. She is term-limited out of the governorship, and the Senate is locked down, even if she wanted to go in that direction. She's clearly being groomed for the national stage, and a Rubio endorsement won't hurt her chances, and may help.

A reasonable post. Thank you.
