The Bowman Shrine

Departing from his usual reason to believe catchphrase, Mr. Bowman began today's article on Freddie Freeman thusly:

Now that he has been comforted by the durability of his right wrist...

The brilliance of Bowman's writing has no contemporary peer.

Has he named the wrist yet? I thought being a lefty would translate over...?

He's like Jim Murray, Peter Gammons and Ring Lardner all rolled into one.

Bowman on 3/11:

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The always-vibrant Nick Swisher has never shied away from an opportunity to take center stage and interact fans. Thus, it seemed only fitting that the veteran outfielder helped welcome Braves fans to MLB Snapchat Day.

As he exited the clubhouse with Tyrell Jenkins before Friday's split-squad game against the Cardinals in Jupiter, Swisher delivered this message -- and in the process provided further reason to believe he has never consumed a decaffeinated beverage.

This guy is money. Either that or he's just ****ing with us now.

A twofer

Like there was not any reason to become overly encouraged as Chacin completed five scoreless innings over his only two previous starts, there is no reason for the Braves to become overly discouraged about the results a veteran pitcher produced on one mid-March afternoon.

The sad thing is, he gets a little time to sit down and choose his words, and those are the ones he chooses.

There is reason to believe Bowman is not the sharpest tool in the shed. However, there is no reason to believe he is not a tool.

In contrast this is a much more typical Bowman article.

It includes this little gem:

At the same time, Mallex Smith enriched camp with an enthusiastic approach that created reason to believe he too has the capability to make a strong impact once he is given his chance to become a part of the next wave of talent that will soon reach Atlanta.

Sweet Jesus, he is just dreadful.
