GDT vs Nats on 4/14 ... No FF today

Cut the bull**** Gov. as my post was clearly about us not challenging when we should, I only mentioned Fredi in it in saying "I don't know if it's Fredi or whomever is doing the reviews for us..."

That said, if you want to debate Fredi's managing in general, then bring it on and we can do so. But save the bull**** looking for a post and taking it out of context that is clearly about another subject.

My point, I suppose, is that's majoring in the minors. Obviously Fredi is the guy who has to request the review, so I was thinking you were talking about him, not poor Horacio.

Just as obviously, any manager gets second guessed for everything. For years St. Bobby was considered an epsilon semi-moron by a large percentage of the fanbase ("The reason we only have one WS win is Bobby.").

Fredi is not a brilliant tactician, I agree. But given the players he has to deploy, who gives a ****? Maybe he's just too overwhelmingly depressed from watching this team play to raise his hand for a replay.

There were missed reviews in the past and "poor Horacio" was said to be at fault rather than Fredi. So I am not sure whether it's him or Fredi or some combination but whatever the case they're not challenging some plays I see regularly challenged by other teams. That's not good IMO.

Again, I'm old and someone as old will have to help me out. But I seem to recall a season when the Padres only beat the Braves once out of 18 games. There are a lot of strange-but-trues in the history of baseball.

We were 13-0 against the Rockies in 1993. The streak extended into 1994 as well. Of course they were an expansion team. But that is kind of what we are now. I try and not sweat it because there is nothing any of us can do about it.

Another good game from the team that is improved from 2015. Hart and Coppy have this train moving in the right direction. Really liking what I'm seeing. This team is on the cusp of being a high-caliber contender.

What's most frustrating to me is we aren't losing with a bunch of kids. We're losing with old men. It would so much easier to swallow if we were losing with inexperienced, but talented players

It doesnt make sense to burn potentially valuable service time of young players this year.

Thanks, but I'm okay. It is actually healthy that we are arguing about a **** ball team such as this rather than just ignoring it.

If he was calling me out for saying "Cut the bull****" when I was taken out of context (though I am not saying you did so intentionally) and using my post to defend Fredi. Then the admins here can go ahead and ban me because I'll do that with anyone and it has nothing to do with a lack of calmness nor was it a personal attack.

Maybe not, but when we bring up the young guys it'll be a throw away year too... So we'll lose a year most likely anyway
Turning things around won't be accelerated by promoting our prospects. At this point they all would benefit from more time in the minors. And that includes Smith and Castro.

The reality is if we don't have money to afford these guys for an extra year they'll just get Heywarded.

If Swanson and Albies are as great as projected, we may have to unload them before free agency anyways.

I'd rather these guys come up after June and take their licks and growing pains.

All good, '76. Good to visit with you here.
