DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

I'd take Perez at 40 with PED questions or not. His defense is supposed to be elite and PED's have nothing to do with that. Him and Keiboom is what I'm hoping for

Like I said... Can't say anything to you. You always have something to say if it doesn't agree with your opinion. Law, Gammons, and Smoltz are big on him. They said he was the top pitcher and player on the Braves board but it's all a lie...

I don't think it's a lie that the Braves FO told them that.

"I form my own opinions, which is why I keep pointing to other people's draft rankings."

OK, I'll play.

As opposed to "Whatever the Braves do is self-evidently correct and according to plan, and our talent evaluators are not subject to question."

Hey we think you are the best player in this draft. But we are only going to pay you half of what you are allotted. Sound good?

Actually it's a great move to get your number 1 player with lots of extra money to spend later when all the top bats have huge question marks.

Which is why they cut a deal with him.

You wanted the Braves to pay him more than they had to? They're not blind, just because they rated him up there doesn't mean they don't know others don't. So you take advantage of that and pay him less than you have to.

I propose next year we run 2 draft threads, 1 for people who know how the MLB draft works and the other for people to cry that we didnt stick to MLB.com rankings.

Smoltz knows how to pitch and had unbelievable talent to go along with it. Doesn't mean he knows how to find said talent in other players.

That's beside the point, Smoltz isn't going to poo poo any of these kids. It isn't his style.

And you don't either. This is a forum where we post our opinions. If we only posted what we knew for a fact this thread would be one post long announcing the drafting of Anderson.

You said Anderson has a lower probability than others of becoming a top player. That's your opinion, but you presented it as fact. You've presented everything as fact in this thread.

I don't think it's a lie that the Braves FO told them that.

You just contradicted yourself in consecutive posts. You know the Braves told him he was their top pitcher, yet you seem to suggest it would be impossible to then pay him less money once you've admitted that. We obviously paid him less money, so...

You said Anderson has a lower probability than others of becoming a top player. That's your opinion, but you presented it as fact. You've presented everything as fact in this thread.

We're on an Internet forum discussing draft picks. I think the "IMO" is implied at this point.
