Historically, the Braves (or someone) will draft Horn in the final 10 rounds, which have become throw-away picks for unsignable players for many teams.

You think so? I was just thinking it's correlated to going cheap so we can save all of our money to sign our first 3 picks.
Wait for it. Round 10: senior sign. Man I hope with all this money we are saving with senior signs, we are about to take some tough signs/high upside guys in the next few rounds. And hey we've drafted a bunch of bats lately, albeit seniors with limited upside. But hey at least we know it's possible to draft bats

I think they'll have plenty of money left over after signing their guys from the first five rounds. I'm guessing they will take a flyer on someone like Mendoza and pool everything left over from the first ten rounds and toss it at him.

Unless they are a SR in college, they always have the option of either going to college, JC or back to college.
I'm all for ML players getting fair market value. I'm also all against a salary cap since IMO that only rewards badly run teams for having bad management.
But, having the Scott Boras' of the world hold teams hostage over amateur talent and try to circumvent the draft process to influence where a client will be picked isn't good for the game.
I almost wonder what the game would look like if you eliminated the draft altogether, all amateur talent is free agent and there is no such thing as minor league control of a player outside the 30 (not 40) man roster. So, each amateur player could sign where they want for what they can get but teams can't hoard talent outside of it's 30 man roster.
Teams that are contending or close to it or have a lot of long term contracts would have a difficult time protecting minor league talent and teams like the Braves are today would have an opportunity to cherry pick to get better. Not saying that it should be done, just a thought experiment.

The OF from TT... Tyler Neslony looks a bit interesting. Haven't seen a scouting report but he looks like he has som power potential and is a career .300 hitter. Had a huge sophomore season... Tailed off junior year and rebounded his senior year. Nice chance to take for cheap.

I think our 5th and 6th rounders were prospects on top 200 lists
and then we had to more players on the BA top 500.
