Bud Norris to Dodgers

Considering we signed him to a 1 yr prove it deal so to speak this is a fine return.

If we trade Viz, i'd hope for something much better though.

I assume the "outside" options would be taking on a bad contract to buy a prospect (or move Markaks / Olivera)?

Ubaldo for Markakis. I would so do that. We get out from under Markakis and only owe Ubaldo for 1 year. I might even throw in some $$$ to even things out just to clear it a year early.

Thanks for the clarification. He should have fun with Puig.

hahahaha!!!! I had no considered that! But hell, Puig seemed to have ruffled many feathers over there, but has apparently slowed his roll on acting up.

When do these prospects all of sudden have a bright future? Usually minutes after the Braves acquire a player he's all of a sudden a hidden talent. What's wrong?

Braves only sent ~$1m in the deal, so saved around $4m. I dig it.

The Braves traded veteran pitcher Bud Norris to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday as the main piece in a deal for two pitching pitching prospects, left-hander Phil Pfeifer and Caleb Dirks.
The Braves also sent minor league outfielder Dian Toscano, a player to be named later and about $1 million to the Dodgers in the trade.

Never really understood the Dian Toscano signing, and now it's like the Braves they admitted there was nothing there by dumping him off. The strange part was, you could tell from his track record and upside there wasn't much there in the first place, yet they still gave him a multi year contract.

Don't question anything.

Well, sure his upside was pretty much 4th OF'er, but, for the $$$ having him for 4 years as a 4th OF'er would have still been cheap. it didn't work out. such is baseball

Seems like a good trade. Real interested to know the PTBNL. That will ultimately determine how good this thing is. Surely that won't be a real significant piece.
