2016 Election Coverage: Aka Every Way You Look at it You Lose.

And lets hear it for diversity. Who would have thought 25 years ago we could have a Russian immigrant as first lady. Progress.....

You have to give Trump credit. He saw an opportunity and he had the balls to take it. He alone thought he could win without running a real campaign, lie brazenly and behave like a child the whole way, learn nothing about how govt works, and still the people would elect him. Pretty amazing, unfortunately.

I still think he's a repulsive human being and the most obvious American villain in my lifetime. Perhaps fear of failing on the world's biggest stage will push him to do good things. Or maybe he surrounds himself with so many right wing bozos they end up going after him.

Just can't stress this enough.

Barack Obama's team laid the groundwork for the Dems to win elections for the next decade and beyond.

Hillary's team destroyed that foundation and couldn't capitalize on a huge lead yet again. She and DWS essentially destroyed Obama's legacy tonight by getting Donald elected.

No offense to folks like 50 who were confident in Hillary winning, but I honestly truly believe Bernie or Biden would have come in last night and landslide Trump.

Hillary got swept in the Rust Belt big time.

Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania.

No doubt Bernie would have been more competitive if not outright sweep those states.

Whether you wanted Trump to win or not this is an incredible moment in history. The greatest presidential upset in our lifetimes.

Surprised but not shocked.

I think this does show how divided we are as a country (for a lot of reasons) and it's up to us to re-unite and not leave it to Washington or our respective state capitals.

Sav, I wasn't all that confident. I was following the polls like everyone else. But polls don't test saliency. If I have 100 friends and you have 90, but 80% of my friends show up at the party and 90% of your's do, you have 1 more friend at the party than I do. If anything, I underestimated the complete angst in a large segment of the population.

As for Bernie, I think many of the same cultural issues that I believe contributed to Hillary's loss would have been a millstone around his neck as well. Maybe even Biden. We've seen a ton of cultural change over the past decade and a lot of people feel their lives are spinning out of control. I think those folks pulled the lever for Trump.

Also Stein got the same basic number of Votes as Johnson did in 2012 and Johnson more than tripled his total. So there are a few good things, more americans are waking up to the lies of the 2 parties. After this fiasco hopefully more will wake up.

Anyone know if Zito is still expecting Hillary to win, LOL!

I think Bernie would have won in a landslide. The Dems could have put almost anyone up against Trump and won......except Hillary.

All those surprise flips like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, etc that Trump won by 1 point or less the third party candidates got around 5%. That very well could have been the difference maker.

And let's not forget how many dirty tricks she and her minions had to pull just to beat Bernie in the primaries. I guess they wouldn't let her people count the ballots this time around.
