Braves sign LH Reliever Jacob Lindgren

He'll go on the 60-day as soon as he is eligible to do so, which will make him a non-factor for the season when it comes to active and 40-man roster decisions, but like Biddle this past season, he'll have to go back on the 40-man after the 2017 season. Don't know much about him, so I will defer to those who do.

But I agree with Enscheff on the big picture. You don't trade depth simply because you can. We'll see on Jackson. Obviously some folks believe a change of scenery will get his head right (and from the comments by front office types outside of the Braves' brass, it appears his head is his biggest problem).
The troubling part of Jackson is his stubbornness or failure to work. They showed up after he got paid. These are concerns as an amateur and I think his agent is Borass...in any case, this should be his wake up. I will say that I follow him on Twitter and he takes time to acknowledge fans and how blessed he is.I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Lost in all the shuffle we made a possible nice under the radar move. Still young but was drafted as a second rounder by the Yankees. Made it to the majors briefly before the dreaded TJS.... still high quality arm for the bullpen if he can make a full recovery.

Just so I'm clear on the logic here:

The Braves signed an injured BP pitcher and that makes up for trading away elite talent?

PosiBraves assemble!! We gave up Newcomb, but our elite FO replaced him with Lingred!!

Posibraves aside this is a great move. But just keep trolling your negative crap

Good low-cost move, of course captain smartass takes everything so seriously.

Got to stash him on the 40 man for about 18 months before he can be expected to contribute. 40 man log jams in the future will have to be managed.

Well he won't count against the 40 man for awhile since he'll be on the DL likely the entire season.

He has to be on 40 man during off season. That is when the log jam will be felt. I assume paco, winkler and biddle will be on a prove it or go term this year. We can't keep waiting on them.

If Lindgren can get back to form, think about having him and Minter in the same pen. That's pure nastiness coming from the left side.

And possible Clouse as well.

I like the move. Coppy has said he's never going to stop acquiring talent. He wants high ceiling talent and is willing to get it wherever he can. I foresee more roster purging of mediocre talent to make room for talented question marks coming.

And the off chance Paco Rodriguez gets healthy and returns to form.

Not to mention Krol had a good season and has three years of control left.

I'm thinking Krol might be flipped. He had a better season, but he's just an ok reliever. I think they're looking to trade good for the possibility of great. He's going in to arbitration and his value may never be higher than it is right now.

Only LH reliever right now.
