Winter Meetings Thread

I'd still much rather have a multi year Castillo than Ramos who can't stay healthy and may not be able to catch much again. Any day of the week

If both are healthy I like Ramos more but clearly he can't stay healthy. Really hope we grab Castillo but we're way too attached to Flowers

No NL team is going to go anywhere near Ramos. This is the advantage AL teams have, and is why the AL is superior. The DH allows them so much more roster flexibility.

I don't feel like Coppy is attached to anyone really. I think he will weight the cost to benefit over what he has. He has a plan and he will make small deviations but won't do anything stupid to hamstring the teams future. I would rule out Castillo just yet, but Ramos was probably never even a thought.. He probably won't catch more than 50 innings next year.

Ramos really only had one better year than him. And Castillo was a backup for a long time. Not sure if Ramos' showing last year was the real Ramos and likely not sustainable. Having Flowers won't keep us from getting a Castillo or Wieters.

Zb, I think Castillo is now better from every angle. I wouldn't mind going, say 2/$12m with a vesting option.

The Braves have always loved Lucroy. He will be the FA the Braves go after the hardest next year. Hopefully he tests FA instead of resigning with Texas.

Braves ultimately wouldn't pay price for Sale. Do have interest in Quintana, who has 4 yrs left. Depends on timetable.

I'm certainly not advocating the acquisition of either, but I value 4 years of Quintana more than 5 years of Archer. Quintana is younger, and I think better. One of the most underrated players in MLB.

Not gonna lie, I'd have blown passed the rays offer for Ramos.

That's a deal folks.

That is a good deal, but Ramos may miss half of 2017 (or DH a large part of it).

Wellington Castillo is an awful defender that is boosted offensively from playing in Arizona. I'm not sure I would touch him.

I agree. Still don't think this is the time to pull the trigger, but it may be the best time to get him, so it just depends on the price, which will likely be steep.

Yes, always depends on the price. Quintana would be the perfect one to acquire if the price is right though.

If Quintana is traded it will be to the

Nats or Astros. Both are teams ready to win now and will be willing to pay more than the Braves. The Nats will probably circle back once they decide one way or the other on Cutch.

Plus, Hart literally JUST said the Braves will be growing TOR starters, not buying them.
