Welcome to the 45th President of the United States, President Donald Trump!

I love Inauguration Day. It's always great to see a peaceful exchange of power. Hopefully this will be kept civil and the protestors will not cause a disruption. I also hope that President Trumps supporters in attendance are more respectful of the outgoing POTUS then what happened to President Bush in Obama's 2009 Inauguration.

As CC posted in another thread, we need to rally behind our new President, regardless of whether or not we voted for him. I personally didn't vote for him, but he still has my support. We are more divided as a country then anytime in my lifetime, and it's time for a change.

It's a two-way street. Trump has to earn people's respect and not seek to belittle differences of opinion. The world can do without his Twitter rants. This is the third president in a row that there has been considerable paranoia and fear from the other side from day one. A lot of people who voted for this man never showed the outgoing president one shred of civility the last eight years so I don't see it happening his last four hours in office or for the rest of his life.

Already have cars and restaurants smashed windows from the tolerant left.

These folks are vicious and quite dangerous.

But it will be forgotten in future arguments. Where were the riots when Obama won?

There weren't riots because we were too busy earning a living at our jobs. I wasn't happy at all when Obama won, but you know what. I accepted it and moved on.

It's a perfect storm. Less people working under Obama so they can riot against am opposing agenda.

Save it. Where was this childish behavior when Obama won? There was unhappy people and there was wide spread disappointment. We moved on and accepted what our country decided. We were labeled racists because we didn't like Obama. The amount of disrespect for the elected President is astounding and these people hate America then, right?

I can't stop thinking about the end of the Maltese Falcon when everyone learns the falcon is a fake.

When it is clear that is what happened

Joel Cairo started yelling at the Fatman " you id iot... "

can't get that outta my mind

I'm on a train full of women and if Victor Laszlo started singling La Marseillaise right now I'm pretty sure every single one would join in.

friend outside his office in Atlanta had a guy go out to the street and starting playing taps at exactly noon. :lol

I saw several days of almost exclusively peaceful protests. I don't recall any riots.

Here's a couple from today:

There's also a video of folks throwing rocks through windows and throwing flares inside of private businesses... But I can't copy the tweet for some reason

"The White House website has already removed the pages for LGBT rights and climate change. In its place is a pledge to drill more oil."

Right now we have no ambassadors around the world and our president is in violation of the Constitution. Good times ahead.

No president has ever received the benefit of the doubt more than Obama. He was lauded as The Great Uniter, The Post-Racial President, and received a Nobel Peace Prize before proving anything besides his ability to run a campaign. So please spare us any attempts to make it look like this is tit for tat. The tantrum thrown by many, many people on the left since the election is beyond anything I would expect to see outside of a pre-school.
