Takumi Sakuyama, a former TPP negotiator for the Japanese government who is now an associate professor of agriculture at Tokyo’s Meiji University, said it is “risky” but “inevitable” for the Abe administration to respond to a U.S. request to start negotiations on a bilateral trade deal.

“Bilateral discussions are going to give an advantage to the larger economy — the U.S. — and Mr. Trump’s record of complaints about Japan’s automotive trade, beef tariffs and currency manipulation indicates he will … drive a hard bargain,” he said.

You know, the government could probably do more to concretely improve people's lives with some tweaks to transportation policy. Instead we're consumed by scaremongering involving brown people of various flavors. Says a lot.

Well my primaries issues are the global war against radical Islam and the economy for starters.

In regards to the issue of illegal immigrants there is a finite number of resources in this country. I would rather expend those resources on people who are here legally. Illegal immigration is wrapped up with radical Islam in a broad national security issue.
 
Obama deported a ton of people and the talking heads on the right still said he was doing nothing.

Thank god he did his executive order at the time on immigration.

You make it sound so Sunday casual. I personally think there's a huge difference between, say, a girl scout knocking to ask me to buy cookies and law enforcement knocking to ask me to prove my identity.

It's a question of legality. There is nothing g that stops law enforcement for knocking on the door.

The arrests took place in six counties during what U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials described as a “five-day targeted enforcement operation” that began Monday and wrapped up around noon Friday.

Of the 160 arrested, about 150 had criminal histories, while five more had either been previously deported or had “final orders of removal”. Many of those arrested had prior felony convictions for “serious or violent offenses” including child sex crimes and assault.
