GOP Rep. Chaffetz: Americans may need to choose between "new iphone... they just love" and investing in health care

it's that kinda schit

This is the essence of the divide. Big government supporters think it is okay for someone with a lots of nice luxury goods to expect me to pay for their healthcare. Me, with my middle class income and $99 phone on a budget plan, well, I do not agree.

2016: Let me tell ya. These people are idiots. It's so simple. You open up the state lines and everyone wins. Believe me.

2017: Who knew healthcare would be so complicated?

Even if this were true: an iPhone - basically a fully functioning computer in addition to phone - isn't bad use of money if you're poor

Who spends $1500/mo on am iPhone?

Broncos‏ @RJMonstrous 2h2 hours ago

lol so a procedure could run tens of thousands of dollars, and he thinks buying an iPhone is the reason we can't afford healthcare?

I don't feel sorry one bit for people that buy the newest iPhone every year. I bet in 20 years they protest saying a smartphone is a basic human right. **** those people.

that statement is ignorant on so many levels.
your shallow response surprises me

Proving it really isn't or has ever been about health care
is it ?

I'm angry at Trump supporters but I'd never even fantasize doing anything as cruel to them as what this GOP ACA repeal does.

ACA repeal affects many who aren't aware.

Here are the people impacted on in one place.

RT if you think helpful.

Just quoted health coverage for a family of four as the primary breadwinner is switching jobs. Health coverage was 1300 a month and Cobra coverage was just under that at around 1100-1200.

THOSE are the people this was designed to help, and it would represent their largest expense they have by about 800 bucks a month.

as a supporter of Obamacare, you should be thrilled that the Repubs only came up with this.

It is a joke

Witness GOP Governors running as fast as they can

But the rubes ...

"I'm Jason Chaffetz of the @GOP & I don't think people with leukemia should be allowed to have phones."

What you fail to understand is that government subsidies always lead to higher prices. Insurance is 1500 a month because Government has been subsidizing and regulating it to death.

Here is a novel concept I like. Don't penalize handicapped or elderly people from working. If a blind person can get a job he shouldn't lose disability payments because of it. Same with "retired" elderly people. Unless the amount they make gets obscene we shouldn't penalize people for working menial jobs who could otherwise sit at home.

So why am I ,who knows he can't afford kids, paying taxes to subsidize someone else who did have kids but can't afford the costs associated with it? How would you feel if I go have a kid with my gf then force everyone on this forum to pitch in every month to help me afford the costs and called anyone who objected a heartless bastard?

Is it that crazy of a concept to say that someone who thinks he/she can't buy health insurance, shouldn't be buying a $1,000 phone?

Oh right - that requires accountability... something the left loathes

"ah, 'the left'"
