Wisler and Blair are going to have to show something fast if they don't want to be lost in the shuffle.

There should be plenty of room for one of them if they deserve it, all the vets signed are on one year deals and that's three spots right there. Dickey has an option but if he's not good you use him as a long-man to make room for someone else. Now if he is good then great and keep him in rotation, but even if so Colon and Garcia are gone after this year if not re-signed.

That said, they should've traded Wisler when he was pitching okay and got something good back. They are likely going to wait too long and we'll end up giving him away for little or nothing.

Ideally Newcomb and Fried show they're ready at some point in the second half of this season and are in the 2018 rotation with Teheran and Folty. Maybe sign one Colon-type to go with that group if Wisler, Blair and Weigel still aren't ready. But if Wisler and Blair struggle again this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see us cut bait and just try to regain something of value for them.

Did anyone really buy that talk about it being a competition? Folty will be in the rotation barring injury or a trade that includes him and I doubt he's traded anytime soon. Wisler is the one that they seem the most down on right now. While Blair had a bad first year in the Majors but ended strong thanks to having another pitch working (slider). So he'll probably start in AAA to work more on that and get another shot sometime later this year if all goes well. To sum it up, Folty would have to be traded or get hurt to not be in the rotation to start the season.

There are a couple of people here that do/did

I thought I was alone in this thought.....JT is my guy. I hope he's around for a while...but with Coppy, I don't know.

I've always thought the braves would keep Teheran. He's been the organization jewel for 10 years and they were scouting him for a couple of years before. You can tell from the Maitan signing that the braves form real relationships with the player and family at a young age. I get thefeelin that the plan is to have Teheran for another 10 years.
