We traded for him at a perfect time.
Going to be our Dan Uggla (pre Atlanta)
We traded for him at a perfect time.
How is it possible to get this type of talent for the crap we gave up?
Same reason Dan Uggla can go unprotected after hitting 297/378/502 - 880 in AA
Uggla was a 25 year old 11th round pick.
TD was a 1st round pick who had a 915 ops as a 21 year old.
I don't see this being the same scenario.
The Uggla to TD comparison makes no sense to be at all.
Uggla was a slow, avg 2B who had power.
TD is a fast, above avg 2B who has power.
Both 2B, both had/have power, but what else profiles the same?

Their pedigree is different. But I am referring to how easily it was for them to switch teams. Other team simply gave up on them.

As hitters they both profile as low avg, good walk rate, good power. And in the end it's what TD does at the plate that will determine if he will be a starter at this level.
Agreed about being given up on but TD was doing great for them. It makes no sense. I wonder if he has really bad makeup issues.
Agree on the starter note, but seems to be a more complete player than Uggla was. His defense & speed play at the next levels.
Odds are still super high that he fizzles out. Having a K% in the 30's as a 21 year old in A ball is a serious red flag.
This is a great stats\scouts debate.
The people still down on TD are the ones basing it off his A ball performance. The scout community heard the buzz from him being in the AFL and scouts impressions and his improvement as the year went (and defense!) for their opinion basis.
What about 18% in AA..
/I know he probably wont finish sub 20%.. but he looks good out of the gate.
