If his stock has dropped outside the top 30, then no one's going to pay him a crazy signing bonus. That would be a pretty terrible strategy for him.

He might fall to our 2nd pick just as is.

It's very interesting to see BA so aggressive on Adell, with him above Beck. What I had read on his performance this year left me wondering why he still had so many questions about his hit tool, and this may indicate he is answering those. If so, I still like him as a potential pick at 5.
 
The local boys run into North Davidson and Austin Beck in the playoffs this evening - unfortunately I can't get away early enough to get down there for the game.
 
The Top 4 seem to be pretty solidly Greene, McKay, Wright and Lewis. Gore appears to be widely considered #5.

The Braves have to take whichever of Gore or Lewis is available to them. If both somehow drop to 5, the pick has to be Lewis.
 
I will like Gore or Beck. But always the Braves have other plans last year we had the chance to draft Groome or Lewis and they choose Anderson from no where.

I don't think we have to take Gore just because he's becoming a consensus at 5. And I like both Beck and Adell better than Lewis as hitters.

Lewis didn't have a very exciting profile to me to start and it seems as if he's had a not so stellar season at last report.

If braves reach for position player rather it was someone else.

I have no issue with Gore as it seems like he is arguably the best pitcher in draft.
 
Braves seem to prefer latest performance as an indicator of new norms or improvement, so if Lewis is there, I expect them to pick someone else

I wasn't precise enough with my wording.

As long as the Braves take BPA, I don't mind if it's a pitcher or hitter. As long as they don't draft someone in order to save money on his signing bonus, I'm happy.

I do want to be clear beforehand, though - what you really mean is that you're happy as long as we pay whoever we draft slot money or more, right? Because otherwise the assumption will be that we only drafted the player to save money.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. I would be happy if the Braves drafted your dog at #5 and gave him slot money.
