Ozzie debut tonight

There is a huge line between incompetent and failing to go by the internet experts bible on prospect promotion.

It's not nearly as big an issue as it is being made out to be. Player control will end sometime and its not always the case that an organization must totally maximize control over every player.

To me, Atlanta had options in the majors and in AAA to keep Albies down to save the extra season and that's what I would have done. They could still very easily find a way of getting that extra season back if he isn't great. If not, it isn't anything remotely approaching the end of the world. In six years, someone may say what if we still had a year of arbitration Albies the Front Office is stupid or maybe they won't.

Right. Unquestionably the optimal economic efficiency would be to wait until the end of April in the calendar year that the player is ready. But while economic efficiency is a big part of the equation, it's not the only thing they're looking at.

So is every Braves prospect a special player? Because they are all getting rapid promotions.

It makes sense in certain situations. The Braves are not in any of them currently.

2018 is a big year. They need to make some decisions. I think they will make a big trade.

Ozzie is young but he's had a lot of minor league at bats. He's spent a lot of time in the upper minors. IF you think he's your 2B in 2018 I don't have a problem getting him up now and letting him get some firsts out of the way.

Right now we seem to be saying we are playing for next year with the Ozzie move. If we are consistent for once I'd do this:

1B:FF...and I'd tell Kemp to play some innings here

2B: Ozzie

SS: Comargo

3B: SRod...maybe an occasional Phillips. Santana has no business starting.

LF: Kemp/Adams

CF: Inciarte

RF: Neck

Let the kids play. Hopefully Swanson hits really well and you can move him back and move Comargo to 3B. I wouldn't play Ruiz unless I moved corner OF guys and was playing SRod there.

The FO is managing the team like they have no business sense at all, like it doesn't matter a bit.

Everyone wants to discuss the "putting fans in the seat factor"

If that was an overriding consideration then they would have made a splash trade, after all how many more people can Albies be expected to produce over BP, an Atlanta guy with Atlanta area followers.

The other thing everyone glosses over is the 40 man impact. Abbie's didn't have to go on but he's there now

Just really shortsighted and unquestionably dumb

Again, they know all of these things. They simply clearly value other things more than what you've listed here. Everyone is free to disagree, but acting like they don't know all of this is stupid.

I'm afraid they do know and still are doing it

Ignorance can be excused to a certain extent because by definition they don't know any better

Knowing it's stupid and still doing it is just insane

I don't get it.

3B has been awful since chipper. I don't think it matters.

Dansby isn't tearing up AAA. In that case I don't really care who plays 3B the rest of this year. B/c if Dansby was doing well I'd put him back at SS and let Comargo play 3B.

Every day Albies is up he better be starting. At this point I think they need to play comargo and see if they think they have an everyday anything.

I think they already know Jo-gun can play 3B. He will play everyday to see if Bat is projectable to next year. If Dans gets right in AAA, then I have no doubt you see Jo-Gun, Dans, Oz, FF around the horn.
