With the amount of strikeouts he gets, I would hope the FO is at least very patient. Dude's talent is immense.

JJ is 22/30 in save chances (73%).

For his career, Viz is 6/8 this year (75%) and 25/34 in his career (74%).

Viz closing all year would have changed absolutely nothing.

Johnson had a bad April, but he was solid in May until mid-June. He's been terrible since July, but I don't think having Vizcaino as primary closer the whole way would have made a whit of difference. Funny thing is that Johnson's K-rate and K/BB rank with the highest he has had during his career (even during his impressive years in Baltimore).

He will get at the very least a full 2018 (barring an absolute meltdown).

Of course its just the insane homer in me but I believe he will be able to curtail the walks to a level where it makes him a borderline TOR pitcher. His velocity/throwing arm side/arsenal/size are all the ingredients you need to be a TOR.
