Shootings In Las Vegas

all of that and you took away "i hate the founding fathers"

lol

are you showing me the chicago video cause their regulations work and we should adopt their laws on guns nationwide?

Their regulations work, and they have the highest gun crime in the country.

Weird

Confused on your point now cause it seems you're refuting yourself now

Does the regulation work or not?

I'm not surprised you're confused. There are two different points here

1. You and this dumbass' reporter thinks getting an assult rifle is as easy as buying a sweater. And you're both wrong.

2. Despite the strictest regulations in the country, and regulations that stop someone from getting a weapon who thought it would be easy... Chicago has the highest gun crime in the country

The answer to point 1... you're both idiots

The answer to point 2... perhaps "tougher regulation" isn't the answer

I think the issue of gun violence in Chicago is a whole other set of issues and factors.

In the case of this thing in Vegas and countless other ones, it seems we have a national sickness of people who want to inflict their pain on as many others as possible while going out in a blaze.

There are multiple common denominators in these but the gun angle can't be ignored or shied away from.

I don't think legislation alone will be the ultimate solver of these problems, but the political courage to discuss these problems and find ways to address them is lacking and that's not surprising given the power of the gun lobby.

What regulations would have stopped the recent mass shootings other than confiscating all guns?

NRA support for restricting ‘bump stocks’ reflects impact of Las Vegas massacre
The long-simmering debate in this country over gun rights took a dramatic turn Thursday when the National Rifle Association unexpectedly joined an effort to restrict a device used to accelerate gunfire in the Las Vegas massacre.

“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations,” read a statement issued by the powerful organization Thursday.

Federal law enforcement officials have said that Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock fired weapons outfitted with bump stocks Sunday, leaving 58 dead and hundreds injured in a matter of minutes. Experts have said that audio of the attack makes clear that the shooter unleashed a torrent of bullets faster than he could have fired without adapting his rifles.
....
“I didn’t know what a bump stock was until this week,” Ryan said at a news conference in Chestertown, Md. “A lot of us are coming up to speed. . . . Having said that, fully automatic weapons have been outlawed for many, many years. This seems to be a way of going around that, so obviously we need to look how we can tighten up the compliance with this law so that fully automatic weapons are banned.”

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders welcomed the NRA’s position and said President Trump wants to be part of a “conversation” about cracking down on bump stocks. “We’re open to having that conversation,” Sanders said during Thursday’s White House press briefing. “We think we should have that conversation, and we want to be part of it moving forward.”

2. Yeah, it's almost as if someone who wants a gun to use in Chicago could procure it more easily somewhere other than Chicago.

I would say the two responses to these shootings that trouble me the most are when some like to get into semantics about gun terminology or when almost every one of these is made out to be some conspiracy.

Investigators Probing Whether Others Were in Las Vegas Gunman’s Suite

Investigators are trying to determine whether anyone else was in the Las Vegas gunman's hotel room during the time he was registered there, multiple senior law enforcement officials briefed on the investigation told NBC News.

The investigators are puzzled by two discoveries: First, a charger was found that does not match any of the cellphones that belonged to the gunman, Stephen Paddock.

And second: Garage records show that during a period when Paddock's car left the hotel garage, one of his key cards was used to get into his room.

There are going to be books written about this one for sure. Lots of fishy stuff happening.

Knew this bull**** was coming. Always use these events to take away more liberties.

How does this stop this event from occurring? Are they going to make all hotel guests go through the surrounding event "security?"

Las Vegas (CNN)In addition to his frequent forays into casinos and gun shops, Las Vegas strip killer Stephen Paddock took 20 cruises, many of them in Europe and the Middle East, investigators have learned.

The cruises included stops at ports in Spain, Italy, Greece, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, according to information provided by a law enforcement source who asked not to be identified because the source was not authorized to share information about the investigation. Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, accompanied him on nine of the cruises.

IF ISIS WAS BEHIND LAS VEGAS SHOOTING, THERE'S A TERRIFYING REASON IT WON'T PROVE IT YET

Authorities continue to doubt that the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) was behind last week's massacre in Las Vegas, despite the jihadists' persistent claims the shooter acted on their behalf. According to one leading expert's analysis, however, the conflicting narratives might be playing straight into ISIS's hands.

The answer could lie in a larger plot to exploit the U.S.'s already eroding trust in its leadership.

"If Islamic State did indeed cultivate Paddock, as it has claimed was the case, the group surely has some evidence of its engagements with him. If it does, it may be the case the group is waiting on FBI and other agencies to dismiss its claim of responsibility for the Las Vegas attack before posting contradictory evidence online for the world to see," terrorism analyst Michael S. Smith II tells Newsweek.

"Islamic State has been very focused on undermining confidence among civilians in the West that their technologically-superior governments are competent managers of our collective security," he adds.

RENO, Nev. — The Las Vegas shooter’s home in Northern Nevada was broken into over the weekend, police confirmed Tuesday.
....
The break-in occurred through the front door, said Officer Tim Broadway of the Reno Police Department. Detectives do not yet know the number of suspects involved.

They also were not aware of anything taken or any damage, he said. The FBI, which was notified immediately, and Reno police are working to make sure no further incidents occur.

On Oct. 3, federal and local agencies swarmed Paddock’s Reno home and found five handguns, two shotguns, numerous electronic devices and a “plethora of ammunition,” Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said. Weapons, explosives and electronic devices also were found in the home that Paddock bought in January 2015 in another Del Webb retirement community in Mesquite, Nev., about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
