The Trump Presidency

On the other hand

Trump Is Not the Failure He Appears to Be

A lot of people laughed when the president claimed to be “ahead of schedule,” but he’s not wrong. By Yascha Mounk

You Trump lovers will like this one.

There are always taxes. Never did trump say this or any of his aides.

Even with a potential tax increase because of this 401k savings provision tmit will still be offset by the much more talked about increased standard dedcution. So almost in all scenarios the person making 50k will be paying less in taxes than before.

Anyone making $50k or less that is also putting more than $2400 in 401k is still living with the parents. This is obviously targeted at the upper middle class. It's amusing to see someone so rabidly support higher taxes on the higher income earners and then wail and gnash their teeth over something that only impacts the top 10% of earners. Woe is us.

He made some good points. But he lost touch with reality in places too.

The latest sign of the damage his extreme statements can do comes in the form of a poll about, of all things, football. About 2 in 3 Trump supporters used to have a positive impression of the NFL. As soon as Trump started to step up his attacks on team owners, the league’s approval ratings plummeted.

He either failed to realize that Trump is jumping on these waves, not producing them, or he found it more convenient to act that way.

I agree with his overall point that Trump is farther along on To Do List than many give him credit for or fear, depending on their ideology.

really ?

People making under $50K are encouraged - hounded by advertising and hucksters to prepare for retirement as well.
What an out of touch elitist statement

I know many making $40-50 that put monies in 401K in many cases more than the $2400 you mention.
Perhaps the next time you come in contact with someone with dirt under their nails or the person that cleans your office and lavatory at work -strike up a conversation. You might be surprised learning you have a lot in common. Like you both have kids and those kids have the same issues your kids have or they too will need a nest egg when they finish working.

then look at your faux designer watch and give a go back to work glance.

Someone making 50k with 2 kids is not saving for retirement. Just admit you have no clue what you're talking about on this issue and you ran with something because of partisan reasons alone.

It's not even debatable. Anyone with a remedial understanding of basic finances will see this.

I think it safe to assume anyone who voted for and still supports Donald Trump is sorely out of touch with mainstream Americans.
Mainstream as in the whole melting pot

Who are you going to believe, the grieving widow or the notorious liar?

anyone with a remedial understanding of basic finances would know how hard it is to bankrupt a gambling house.
Yet, you looked past that.

making your take on finances ring hollow
.................

The world is full of people making under $50K putting money away.
Like I said, what an elitist out of touch statement

Keep convincing yourself that. Enjoy the next 7 years. This is not an America only thing. A large portion of the work is taking a corrective step back to the right.

Glad to know you've conceded this argument as you have nothing valuable to add. Now sit in the corner and consider what you've learned.

It's is almost impossible to have to low kids and putting money away while making 50k or less. Even more impossible to go above the 2400 in this potential provision. Just stop man.

you are wrong.

Like I said, I know many making $40-50 putting away more than $2400

I'm sure you know 'many'. I would love it if you took a moment out of your day to draw up a simple budget so you can see how foolish your statement is.

$2400 is roughly $50 a week .

I dont know what world you live in but most everyone I know across the economic spectrum saves / invests at least that amount.

At $35K that is feasible.

$50 a week. A dinner out, 2 tanks of gas,

You should get out more. Pocket money

Now saving for retirement with 2 kids at 35k reasonable.

Man, you are clueless.

Bahahahaha! You have made some vastly incorrect assumptions about my income and lifestyle 57. That shouldn't surprise me, coming from you, but I do find it incredibly amusing.
