The Trump Presidency

good lord, the 4th paragraph:

The idea that cutting deductions will make the plan better for the middle class is pure nonsense. There just aren’t enough deductions in the tax code to make Trump’s plan anything other than a giveaway to the wealthy.
.................

Research ain't wurf spit if you don't read past the headline.
grasshopper

You have to read the whole article ... not just stop when you find a part you like.

Imma teach you yet.

5th paragraph:

But the argument that Trump’s plan is actually a cut for middle-class people does have some research behind it — even if the idea is still far outside the mainstream of economics. The chief proponent of the idea that cutting corporate taxes helps the middle class is economist Kevin Hassett, whom Trump has picked as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers.

the rest I interpreted as trickle down
......................

Hassett’s contentions, in other words, are well outside the mainstream of economics. But they rebut the two largest arguments against Trump’s tax plan: the overwhelming cost of the package, and the fact that it offers little to nothing for middle-class families and a lot to the very rich. Hassett’s research enables the White House to insist that the secret to unleashing middle-class wage growth is offering corporations massive tax cuts — and that they can do it in a way that raises revenue by stimulating economic growth.
.......

"They have a saying in Tennessee. I think it's in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas. Fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me again ------------------- won't get fooled again"

Amusing that you think you can increase wages at gunpoint. That in fact never works.

You had 8 years to institute liberal economic policies and we had the weakest post recession growth in our countries history. It failed. end of story.

Pop quiz: why does Hassett believe offering corporations tax cuts helps the middle class?

Answer that, and then explain to me how that concept made you think of trickle down?

first there had to be a recession and financial meltdown due to .... tax cuts - maybe ?

Wow if that is the reason you think the recession happened.

If you actually believe that then you know less about the economy than I even thought.

Surprised no one here wants to discuss episode 7 of Ken Burns Viet Nam.
The ending left me especially queasy.
Seemed relevant --- timely

none of trump's policies help the middle class. "his" (lol) healthcare bill doesn't. his tax cuts for the rich won't. stripping away ability for class actions lawsuits. these are all nods to the already very wealthy.

yeah.................

methinks you don't really understand what helps people

perhaps you should go to trump university. you could learn a lot and get a great job. why not go? trump is great isn't he? so his uni must be, too!

Adopting 57's tactics.

Again - You just don't know about economic matters. I'm sure you have your specialty.
