Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

Well, first of all, I don't know what a "campaign supervisor" even is, and, more importantly, that's not an abstract completely bereft of useful context at all.

Goalposts moving?

So far it seems like the administration line is that Papadopoulos was an unpaid volunteer on the campaign. The "campaign supervisor" and "senior campaign official," etc, mentioned are probably "campaign proper" folks, huh? Maybe they're implicated here, based on the GP indictment and his subsequent interviews. Maybe they're not. But it hardly seems like it would imbue you with confidence that there's less fodder for investigation here today than there was yesterday.

One obvious question that needs to be asked is why Papadopolous initially lied to the FBI? Given the consequences for being caught in such a lie, it is likely that there was some sort of motivation to do so.

It would seem really surprising to me--though not unprecedented, I guess--that he would lie about it. Was Barry Zuckercorn his lawyer?

How would they be moving if my position hasn't changed?

I don't know who the 'campaign supervisor' is. That's not an official title that I'm familiar with. I think it's just a descriptor for someone in power above PapaD. Once again, it's your prerogative (and, as it would seem, MO) to infer beyond that.

And the meeting - was it in relation to the e-mails? was it in relation to Russian sanctions? was it in relation to establishing ties? was it in relation to adoptions?

My guess is that Mueller and his team have already interviewed the campaign supervisor and others further up the food chain. They could be in real trouble if they were not aware that Papadopoulos had flipped.

Papadopoulos was first arrested on July 27, when he landed at Washington Dulles International Airport on a flight from Germany. And he’s been cooperating ever since.

Interesting that they arrest him AFTER letting him go on business abroad.

This is just a wild stab in the dark, but I think PapaD could link to Gorka.

I'm not willing to make a lot of pronouncements about who knew what when, but I'm pretty confident the Gorka never knew **** about ****.

I mean, he's a tragi-comic grifter of the type that seems to surround Trump, but I doubt the Dragon of Budapest is a player at all.

Page is the same but even dumber.

U.S. District Court for D.C. has four sealed cases in its docket with case numbers between Papadopoulos' (182) and Manafort's (201).

btw

that campaign supervisor = Jeff Sessions

in addition to the "supervisor" the indictment mentions that Papadopoulos' emails went to a "senior policy advisor" and "high-ranking campaign official." One of those is more likely to have been Sessions. This was in April. I believe Lewandowski was still campaign manager. Kushner is another possibility.

Per reporting, two of officials cited were Manafort and campaign co-chair Sam Clovis. One yet un-named.
